Offline | Excellent photos Chris. Thanks to you very much for assisting with the day. For most of us the round trip today was about 270km. Rhonda and I left home at 8am and returned home at 8pm. Quite a long day, but very enjoyable, firstly because of the warm and friendly people who attended, and secondly because of these fantastic cars that bring us together. We left St Kilda Marina at 9:30 with a great line up of 9 cars as shown on Chris's photos. The weather had been cold wet and windy, but Spazz assured us that the weather would clear. By the time that we got to Oliver's Hill in Frankston to lookout back towards the city, the rain had gone, but it was still cold and windy. However the views were excellent. Proceeding south we reached the base of Arthur's Seat. The fabulous road that zigzagged its way to the top was a little damp and certainly tested our DSC. Once at the top we were given some fantastic views right across the bay. Pushing on we reached the grand (and warm) Portsea Hotel where we had a sensational lunch and a few warming drinks. Headed to Sorrento to hop on the ferry that took us and our cars across the bay to Queenscliff. Quite funny as the rolling swell set off the alarms of Dom (ratboy) and Stev (swamos). Disembarked at Queenscliff and did a quick tour of the charming seaside village, then on to Geelong where Gripper took us to the recently renovated foreshore which was really beautiful. Dom's little girls had a ride on the carousel, and we attracted like usual a small fan club of admirers. Headed back to Melbourne as the sun was rapidly setting, and joined the thousands of people doing the same thing on the Geelong Rd. Thanks to all those who came. I trust that you all enjoyed yourselves. Steve and his lovely wife Anne, were very stoked that all of you showed up. (See Vic Club info thread for update on club suggestion). Thanks again, ElTel |

Offline | Matt (CoopeR), we all really appreciate the support that these days get, especially from parties like yourself who have to make an extra effort to get to the drive. It was a very early start for both of you, and we're all very glad that you came and enjoyed yourselves. What a charming girl Lisel (spelling?) is. Hope to see you both soon. We'll try to organise something on a more regular basis. Suggestions are always welcomed. |

Offline | That's OK MrMow. Sorry you weren't there. I was almost a non-starter myself, spending Friday night and Saturday in bed with the 'flu. Some things you have no control over. See you next time. |
