As is our usual custom down here in Victoria, if anyone from the north (or south, or east or west) is brave enough to drive to our little spot of paradise, then we put together a welcoming party and show them a good time.

swamos and his lovely wife are going to be in town around the weekend of the 17/18 of May, and a number of us want to take them on a drive on Sunday the 18th.

Spazz is already a starter, along with myself. Anyone else interested?

I'm hoping that we'll get a number of suggestions from the panel about where to go for the drive, failing that I'll choose one of my favourites. As this will be a family day, speed limits will be observed, and we hope to end up somewhere that's interesting and not too far away.

Feel free to offer suggestions, and show your support.

What about a lap of the bay? Maybe clockwise, around to Portsea, ferry to Queensclift and back to City. Lunch at Portsea Pub. A line up of Cooper would look great

If people want to peel off after lunch rather than ferry it to the other side, then they could do that too.

I just traded my Cooper on an S on Tuesday, hoped it would be ready for pickup on Saturday, but won't be ready 'till Monday, I'll live I guess! (the car only arrived at the dealer Thursday afternoon, I would have been very suprised if it WAS ready on Saturday)
Its a Dark silver, black roof, black leather and 17s, its pretty base spec actually (as base as an S can be), but its exactly the car I want (though it has the phone package too, so no aerial, I actually like the aerial, but no biggie really.

But I don't think I'm up to driving at the speeds Mr.Way was mentioning a while back, I LIKE my licence unmolested.

Sounds good to me, It will be good for the car to drive 'normally' for a change.

Yes the drive is definitely on for Sunday, May 18th. At this stage meeting somewhere central, then driving to Portsea or Sorrento for lunch, then optionally ferry across to Queenscliff, and back to Melb through Geelong.

The ferry trip is pretty good and you will usually see dolphins and possibly some seals.

At this stage, it's

eltel and wife,
ccsmini, wife and child,
CoopeR and girlfriend,
ratboy and partner?

There must be others out there who want to come and meet with swamos? Please indicate your interest. This will be a family day and a social outing, not a Monte Carlo drive.
