Offline | Can someone point me in the right direction with respect to retailers of alloy wheels in the Sydney region? Preferably with knowledge of the MCS ... Now that my car is loaded on to the boat I need to start doing some serious detective work regarding my options for wheels ... currently mulling a few ideas around specifically VOLKS and OZ Racing but I have no idea what sort of $$$ I am going to be looking at Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Steve |

Offline | Re: NSW Retailers of alloy wheels What size are you looking for ??? There are a lot of wheels out there that look great but aren't exactly performance if you are going to use them on the track. I used OZ Racing.. http://www.ozwheels.com.au/ My Chrono Evolution's were $432 each for 17x7 race spec rims.. they are really light ![]() ![]() ![]() The original SWORKS |

Offline | Boo Looking for 17" ... don't think the 18" are worth the hassle and dollars Where did you get your wheels from? The RRP on those babies is $565 ... so $432 sounds pretty good How much do they weigh? And what colour finish are they in the photos? Cheers Steve ![]() |

Offline | The link for the importer is above in previous post, their contact details are on the website as well as all the range (although these were the only race spec rims for the cooper s). As for weight, i think i saw 17 lbs.. all i know is that they are definitely lighter than the stock 17's.. The finish is a silver finish... i was initially going to colour them white but have grown to really like them now and will leave them the way they are.. The original SWORKS |

Offline | Web site lists the finish as dark silver ... not silver which would be the colour of your wheels by the looks of it ... dark silver would be great with DSB Any idea as to whether VOLKS is available in Australia ... their alloys are super light Cheers |

Offline | i would say it is lighter than the DS on the Mini. If you want a look let me know and we'll meet up somewhere. I should be getting my stock wheels back next week so if you want to chuck my OZ Racing rims on your car to see what they look like we can do that too. The original SWORKS |

Offline | Thanks for the offer Boo ... but my MINI is currently on a boat somewhere between Southhampton and Baltimore ... scheduled to arrive in Sydney 3rd May, just in time for the JCW upgrade (at least that is the current cunning plan )This wheel decision is all too hard What to do?!? |

Offline | Hi, I am possibly interested in selling a set of 16's. My car came with the 16 silver 5 spoke wheels. I really wanted white, but that was the price for taking a pre-specced car and getting it early. I bought a set of 16 inch 5 spoke whites for my track rims. They look great, but they are a touch heavy for the track. If I could offload the 16 inch silvers, I could use the 16 whites as street rims and get a nice light set of 16's for the track! It just would be a hassle changing all the tyres around! If you are seriously interested let me know. Alternatively if there is anyone out there interested in swapping my set of silvers for their set of whites I would be interested as well. Also a question for Boo : do your track rims go straight on without any problems? Do you need to use spacers or different length lug-nuts? Robbo |

Offline | No spacers and standard lug-nuts used. They do have fitting rings to give them an extra snug fit They went straight on ![]() ![]() They also will probably have enough space for a big brake kit also.. Also, sent you a PM re Burrows drive day on Wednesday ![]() ![]() The original SWORKS |

Offline | Yep, my stock wheels are getting repaired cause they put a huge scratch in one of them when they swapped the tyres over last time (before i got my track rims).. The Potenzas are semi slicks and are road legal but you wouldn't want to get caught driving them in the rain.. The grip they have is awesome and are much softer and grip much harder that normal road tyres.. ![]() ![]() ![]() They are a lot of fun... The original SWORKS |

Offline | No, i have just been warned by plenty of people (including the tyre people) that they suck in the wet... Although they said they are fine for track work in the wet cause you can keep them up to temperature..but to keep the temp up on the road you pretty well have to break the law constantly ![]() The original SWORKS |
