| You are number 6 | Eltel, spotted your reference to UniVerse in the "what do we all do thread". I've worked with Reality, Information, R83, AP, D3 and UniVerse since 1980, in fact way before the UniVerse began. These days it is all D3 or those other so called main stream Flat Earth systems. Hope that explains it for you as well Steve. Mike ![]() |

| MINI Traitor | Ok, I'm supposed to be an IT geek, and apart from a few TLA's that lot meant pretty much nothing to me ![]() If nothing else, it has strengthened my resolve to not be called an it dork anymore. I recently found out that Dork reffers to the Wedding Tackle of a male whale. It's never been the same since. I've been extra carefull to not describe any of my IT co-workers as having a "Whale of a time". So, in summary, whatever you say, Mike, as I'm just a passenger here. ![]() |

Offline | Mike, good to know that someone out there knows a fair bit about it. I've been involved with it since 1982, and did COBOL, RPG and compiler and assembler from the early 70s. Does anyone have some good meanings for SQL (e.g. Silly Query Language)? In a strange coincidence, I've got R83 wheels (5-star). So R83 lives on. ![]() Regards, ElTel |

Offline | It looks as though there has been some discussion on this point while I have been away. Welcome to Peter Kaiser. I'm in Plenty if you ever want to go for a blast with a Cooper. Is there anyone else in Victoria wanting to join a MINI club? Chris |

Offline | Setting up a new MINI ‘club’? For those who missed today's run, this flyer was handed out today. Are you interested in participating in events similar to today? If so, read on, events like today are becoming harder to organise due to potential legal implications. Do not despair, there is a solution, to continue, such events need to be held under the guise of a club, which has the necessary insurance to cover any potential legal implications. What else can a club offer me? A club can offer many things to the individual. One primary attraction may be the chance to talk / meet others with a similar interest – in this case the new MINI Cooper / Cooper S. Other examples include: social events; competition; track work; driver training; technical advice; etc. What has been happening so far? No much, however Eltel (Terry), Ratboy (Dom) and ccsmini (Chris) have joined the BMW Car Club of Victoria and there has been positive response in starting a new MINI chapter. There has been some limited discussion on this topic on www.mini2.com website. Why the BMWCCV? There are several reasons behind aligning a new MINI club up with BMWCCV: 1. Luke-warm response from the Victorian Mini Club Inc. 2. By using the BMWCCV structure, there is no need to set up a club as such, and that means increased focus on activities for the new MINI. What next? If you are interested, no strings attached, please fill in the sheet that is passed around today or forward your details via PM to either Eltel (Terry), Ratboy (Dom) or ccsmini (Chris). It’s a MINI thing! Last edited by OZChris : May 19th, 2003 at 12:35 PM. |

Offline | Welcome Geoff, you've got a nice looking S there. Most EB's seem to have S-spokes. We're hoping to get a fun observation rally happening in about a month, ending up in the hills at a BBQ. Keep watching this area of MINI2. If you need someone to talk to give me a call on 0414 44 22 09. Regards, ElTel. |

Offline | Hey Guys, Thanks for the warm welcome. EITel, I decided on the 5 spokers coz they don't look too overwhelming, particularly in white. I just thought the 17's were tooo big! Steve, It was us who gave you the wink and wave. My wife and I were out for the first daylight run in our new toy. I did see you wave back as I blasted off into the distance. Yeah, it is an incredibly small world isn't it!! Hey Dom, Nice one in Silver! Looks slick. SCOOPED FOR LIFE! |
