Offline | S.A. Bitumen Motorkhana Series - Results (new Mini takes Second Place!) Hi all, Here are the results from round 1 of the Mak Wheels Bitumen Motorkhana Series in South Australia. Had to push very hard. The guy who won was driving a v8 powered MG TC. This is my second season campaining the new Mini, and it looks like being a good year. |

Offline | Good luck to you both, and may the mighty Minis triumph! If you get the bug for motorkhanas, it would be neat to see you both at the Australian Motorkhana Championships this year - 27 to 28 October. This year it's in quiet little Adelaide. ![]() Feb 02 R50 |

| MINI Traitor | Well done ![]() I notice that you've got the standard 15 inch wheels on. At least you don't have to worry about the cost of replacing the 17's after a blast in the carpark ![]() BTW, do you have asc+t, and did you have it switched on or off (I can't see plumes of smoke coming out of the front guards). ![]() Clubman less.... ![]() |

Offline | So this is the solution to Aussieminis woes!!!!well part of the solution 02 MCS gone after 2 years of fun and new friends, and 10 visits to the service dept at Brisbane BMW. You don't know the meaning of practical until you've owned a Camry! (seriously it's not a bad car though ) |

Offline | Had the ASC+T turned off. Interesting thing is that it screws up your handbrake turns. Rear wheels are stationary, front wheels are spinning, natural reaction is to think whell spin and the next thing you know there's no power coming out of the turn! Only tried running without ABS during the last event. Helped when attacking the finish garage where you would occasionally snatch a brake, and ABS would usually make you roll straight through the end of the garage. Driving without ABS made the brakes feel stronger, and gave me more confidence. |

Offline | The Superchips upgrade was more subtle than I thought. Biggest difference is how quickly the power comes in (now from about 3k rather than 4k). The other thing to remember is you force yourself onto a steady diet of 98 octane fuel. I haven't risked running on anything else. Biggest differences (in order of effectiveness in my opinion) - Spax coilover suspension - Yokohama tyres - Superchips upgrade - DBA discs (keeps disc / pad temp down, but won't help with overall braking power) |

Offline | I would tend to chuck the tyres before the suspension in value for money... 17" run flats are $500 per pop ![]() But i can see the value of the suspension ![]() ![]() ![]() The original SWORKS |

| MINI2 Senior | While the ao32r's stick well to the road you're lucky to get 15,000ks with them. Very very nice tyre but I just couldn't afford to replace mine that often. Anyone know much about the Yokohama AVS db? They look like a nice tyre and from the specs will be my next rubber after my elcrapo Pirellis finally wear down completely. Another reason why Italians should stick to making roads and not engineering things to drive upon them. ![]() |

Offline | What do you mean 15,000km ???? I'll be lucky to get 1,500. You've got to remember that they are a special purpose tyre, so I've got two sets of rims at the moment. One set for every day use (with Dunlop SP Sport 200s), the othe for the weekends. ![]() Feb 02 R50 |
