I get about 8.3 on mixed city / highway driving. It's been getting gradually better as mileage increases, but not dramatically so. (Currently only at about 1800 miles / 2900 kilometers...)

Good to have you along vx255. It was nice meeting you last night, and the car looked and sounded great as you left. We'll look forward to catching you on one of our early drives

Of course I wouldn't expect a HOLDEN, oh sorry HSV owner to be so cultured as to know one of the world's most famous movie quotes. But I'll bet you know every quote from Mark Skaife or Peter Brock from every Bathurst since 1982.

My signature is a line by Michael Cane from the 60's cult classic "The Italian Job" I bring a copy over next time, it's a cracker.

Perhaps we should get the LS1 and MINI guys together for a run sometime. I think there would be quite a few surprises install for both sides of the fence.

Oh yeah, I don't need to blow the doors off any Holden, in time they'll fall off of their own accord, probably around 3 to 5 years and of course they'll only be worth 35% their original value.

Cheers

Jase

I've been giving the Holden V8 Boofs grief for years. All of my mates except the MINI Monkeys on this site drive Holden V8's in one form or another, so they're used to my constant jibes regarding build quality, handling and resale but I'll give them one thing they are certainly fast.

The Commodore serves a purpose, and it is getting better at serving that purpose with every year that passes and every model update that is released. I just hate the way you can go and spend $65K on an HSV and some young clown can go and buy all the parts and kits he needs from some aftermarket joint and make his 97 VT Executive V6 look just like your epxensive Clubsport. I mean you can even put the tail lights and grille assembly from a Monaro straight onto a plain old Commodore, where's the exclusivity in that? Why didn't they just make them slightly bigger or wider so that they wouldn't fit in a standard Commodore, but I guess then guys would change the whole rear gaurd assembly to have a Commodore that looks "FULLY SICK MATE!"

Hence my rant and rave in another post about the guy in the UK that wanted to put an S bonnet on his Cooper, TRY HARD!! why not just appreciate each car for what it is instead of trying to make it look like something it's clearly not!

ANYWAY I'm getting cranky with myself and can feel that vein in my forehead starting to pulsate so I'd better chill.

I think I might go for a drive and get some cake, that always makes me feel better

Cheers

Jase

During WW1 at Christmas time our diggers were known to have shared a smoke & a drink with the odd Gerry. Then it was back to the trenches.

Keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer. As long as there's no real corners involved they should be able to stay very close.

that may be true provided that we start a couple of seconds after you on some hell windy road, then well stay behind you....

until the next straight....

then ...

whats that...

is it a MINI driver dissapearing in my rear view mirror (why do think you need caps - does it make you feel as though the car is bigger) (I do realise your difference between MINI and mini maybe you could just use Mini - this is probably going to upset a few of the mini (any case lower or upper) drivers

jase you may be able stay in my rear view mirror if the windy corners continue, but you wont be pushing me along...
well not that awesome power you have under the bonnet...
or is it in the boot (wont be in my boot)

this may rock your apple cart for a while

note some members of LS1 may like to attend a session with MINI club members - your right, it would be interesting from both sides. - both very capable cars in own rights

BTW 4 or 5 year residual on clubby is about 65%
