Burrows Drive Day on the 15th May, anyone want to join us??

For those of you people who want to mix it up with Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches and the odd fast Lotus... the next Burrows Drive Day is on the 15th May out at Eastern Creek.
It is $450/driver and $50/spectator if you are interested..
What do you get for your money you say???

You get lots of track time on a great circuit with instructors available to show you how to go about it..
You get to chase and be chased by lots of great machinery in a very controlled environment..
You even get a BBQ'd lunch

My first one a couple of weeks ago was awesome and i couldn't recommend it highly enough for you to give your mini a good run around a track that is nicely suited to the Mini..

Luke O'Neill who runs the invite only day has extended the invite to any of you other Mini enthusiasts who wish to partake in this event... probably had something to do with me lending my car to him to burn round the track for a few laps.. he was impressed, i could tell by the way he was grinning when he got back and also by the amount of smoke coming from the brakes

Here is the link to the day for more info..
http://www.eventsoneill.com/history.html

If you want to come, send me a personal message with your email and i'll send you the application form...

Hi,

I'll be there.

Boo, this time hopefully you will be in the advanced group

For anyone contemplating taking there precious car on the track, I believe these days are the best opportunity for a beginner.

There is no denying it is very expensive. I can think of lots of other things I could do with $450!

However, these days are perfect for a first timer. The track is wide and safe. The day is very well controlled. There is no risk of getting run-off the track or bumped by anyone else. The instructors are excellent, and you are not pressured into doing anything you are not comfortable with.

You can drive all day if you want. I once did 250kms of track time in my car in one day! Considering Bathurst is 1000km and Sandown 500 that is a good drive!

Also they have brake, suspension specialists etc available for free advice.

Also, for beginners there are no modifications required to your car (eg fire extinguishers, bonnet restrainsts, harnesses etc). All you need is a helmet.

Professional photographers are there to take photos.

You also have the benefit of seeing some exquisite cars up close and on the track, and meeting many car enthusiasts.

If you go to one or two of these days you will feel much more confident in taking on other track days (eg BMW club etc).

It would be great to see people out there.

Robbo

Hi Boo

Yes I am still going!

Bummer about the rain. I was so looking forward to it. My Dad was intending to come out, and was bringing my M3.

However, it might still be OK.

I live out in the West. This morning it was horrible. However, between 10 and 2 it didn't rain, and the roads were dry.

Also it is amazing how quickly the track will dry.

If the worse comes to the worse and it is pouring I will still do some tracktime. I went once before in the M3 when it was pouring. It was actually great. There were only 3-4 cars on the track. In the wet it makes you focus on being smooth, gentle with the throttle, etc which is actually a good learning experience. You dont go fast, but concentrate on technique, lines, throttle application etc.

At this stage I have my street tyres on. I will see what it is like in the morning, but I will probably go there with street tyres and carry the track ones in the back (if they fit!).

Hopefully it will dry out and we can have some fun.

Robbo

Attached is a picture to show you can have fun in the wet.

I just fitted my track tyres, Arthur reckons they are fine in the rain as long as you have plenty of tread and don't hit huge puddles..
I am actually looking forward to it should be fun..

See you there!!
