Due to a number of problems, the Melbourne Premiere of the Italian Job is not going ahead.

The Deb Bailey Foundation apologises, and thanks those who were prepared to offer their support by attending the event.

This event in Melbourne is now cancelled.

MINI owners can still see the movie by contacting their dealer if they have not already received an invite in the mail.

That's a real shame for all you Melbourne MINI owners...maybe you should see if there's any cheap airfares to Sydney and come to the premiere on the 11th

Even though I will be going to the Sydney one, does anyone in Sydney know anything about the screenings put on by the dealers? I wouldn't mind going again, but I haven't received a thing.

Where have I been for all these months?

Hi Alistair,

Only the Melbourne Gala Premiere has been cancelled. Sydney (Fox Studios) is still on for the 11th ... are you still going?

hi brad - yes - paid for my tickets this morning online. looking forward to it - and it's for a good cause too!

my comment in the previous post was referring to the fact our showing at fox studios has lost a bit of it's exclusive-premiere appeal with the fact it's being shown up in hornsby 2 day before we get to see it.

You are absolutely right about that and its one of the many blunders that have been made by the company (Lantern Group) who are now organising the event (after we got pushed out of it), BMW and UIP.

These guys would be flat out organising a bubble bath for a two year old. The Deb Bailey Foundation do not deserve such poor treatment at the hands of a bunch of novices.

Anyway, for what its worth the event itself should be a good night.

Some owners attending the Gala Premiere at Fox Studios may have received a letter with the following details. If so we apologise for bothering you again however we remain uncertain as to actual numbers attending with MINI's that require parking.

If you have received an email today (August 6) and responded please disregard this post.

We need to inform security at Fox so they are properly prepared.

All MINI's who want to park at 'Fox Studios' on Monday the 11th, should meet in the Fox Studios 'bus parking' area which is at the end of Errol Flynn Blvde as you enter the site from Lang Rd.

MINI's need to be there by 6.30pm and will be escorted by security into their location at 7pm.

Please contact Victoria or Anne now to let them know you require parking:victoria@lanterngroup.com.au

Have great night everybody

Dress code for premieres

Hi everyone,

When I paid for my tickets today, I was told that the dress is "casual" for the night. I was under the impression from posts here that it was a "jacket and tie" thing...

Not that I'm overly concerned about dress, but maybe we should all agree on one or the other...so that someone doesn't turn up looking very out of place!

See you all on Monday

Where have I been for all these months?

OMG - sorry Jaydub but obviously you didn't get the email the rest of us did. We all agreed to turn up in pink tutu's in the spirit of the event. Initially I was concerned that the pink would clash with the BRG but I figure its all for a good cause.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

I'm also curious about where the cars will be parked will it be near the red carpet?

Also, I'm now confused about the dress code (if you really can't see yourself in a tu-tu!!)

Looking forward to it!
Cheers

Go to the Fox Studios Map and follow the Map link. Click search /Suttor Stand. We will be parked on the Show Ring outside the Suttor Stand.

Meet in the Fox Studios 'bus parking' area which is at the end of Errol Flynn Blvde as you enter the site from Lang Rd.

Be there by 6.30pm and we will be escorted by security into their location at 7pm.

If anybody hasn't already done so, in the last 24 hours, please contact Victoria or Anne now to let them know you require parking: victoria@lanterngroup.com.au

Dress Code is smart casual.

Regards to all

Whats the go with the tickets - I paid for mine on Tuesday night (I know, I know, late as ever) and now that its Friday night I'm wondering whether tickets were being mailed out or am I on a list. Since I'm driving down to Sydney from Canberra on Monday I'll probably miss Mondays mail.

If tickets were mailed I may just pass mine going the other way on the Hume Highway.
