The next BMWCCV meeting is Monday May 5th at the Whitehorse Inn in Hawthorn.

From recent polls / threads the general Victorian feeling is to do something (undefined) in line with BMW/BMWCCV.

Should we kick something off at this meeting?

Any other sugggestions?

Have we heard anything from Stewart (BMW Club) re BMW's response about a MINI Register?

I would like to see if he's progressed this so that we can prep him before the meeting, and get him to introduce the matter.

Alternatively, we should get it on the agenda under General Business so that it actually gets raised. Therefore, we need to email the secretary to advise of the matter.

I would like to hear BMW's side of the story. Are they interested in helping to form a club? Are they going to get the dealers to push MINI owners towards the club? (BTW, noticed that lots and lots of M3 owners joined recently, probably get complimentary membership of the BMW club from BMW.) Should we speak to Stewart and get him to handle all of this?

I was just thinking about using the meeting as a platform for MINI owners to meet initially. The main BMWCCV does not start until 8:00pm, we MINI owners could meet from, say, 6:00 and grab some dinner??

For those interested MINI owners, here's what I'd like to propose:

- meet at Whitehorse Inn in Hawthorn at 6:30p Monday May 5th, before the BMWCCV which starts at 8:00p

- over a bite to eat and a few beverages,

(i) gauge whether there is any interest in forming a new MINI club in Victoria and if so how, (independent or associated with BMWCCV)

(ii) discuss the various reasons / benefits of a club for interested parties, (track days, driver training, social runs, family events, discounts/group buys, concourse, technical advise, insurance/liability coverage, etc)

(iii) misc mini stuff

- and at 8:00p, attend BMWCCV meeting

Please post a reply to this message if you are coming, otherwise call me on 0408 004 006.
