| MINI2 Senior | NSW/QLD Meet Something to think about for the not too distant future. We should seriously look into a weekend away around Coffs Harbour (etc) area for a Queensland and New South Wales MINI run. We could make a long weekend of it as well. There are quite a few good windy roads in the hinterlands and there's plenty of accomodation. Accomodation would be quite cheap in the winter months too. But with the winter comes nice cool air to blast through the MINI powerplants. Furthermore, Coffs is only about five hours from Brisbane and similar distance from Sydney. I think it'd be a great way to meet everyone and have a terrific weekend while we're at it. What do you all think. |

Offline | Great idea, there is a long weekend in June isn't there? NSW attendees could head up the New England and then down Dorigo mountain to Coffs. There are some great scenic drives along the way. Definately worth seeing how many starters we might get. |

| MINI2 Senior | Hey yeh I forgot about the Dorrigo. Queenslanders could head to Gyra via the New England and head east from there. What a great windy road. If my memory serves me correctly there's about 20k's of road you can't get out of second gear on. An old logging track. Then again it's been 10 years since I travelled that old road. (Sounds like a country and western song). |

Offline | Re: Points On this run most of us would have our partners travelling with us. You don't need to break the speed limit to have fun in a MINI. Track days are the best way to explore the limits of the MINI and our driving capabilities. |

Offline | What about going up the NE Hwy to Tamworth, then taking the Oxley Hwy across to Port Macquarie - I'm told the Oxley Hwy is about 180km of recently resurfaced road that would be absolute bliss in a car like a MINI. And I don't like the prospect of a loooong drive with a bunch of other MINI's on a double points weekend either, I'm in enough trouble of that kind as it is right now ![]() ![]() |

Offline | You know it's about the same distance to Port via Tamworth as it is to Coffs via Tamworth. The road down to Port is sensational since it was resurfaced however Port for the Queensland guys is about another 2.5hrs As to double demerits, we can still have a great time without attracting the ire of the cops. ![]() |

![]() Smurfing Around | I'd be keen for a weekend like this, but unfirtunately June is out of the question for me as I will be overseas. If it was on another weekend I would be definitely interested. (Most weekends are long weekends for me as I usually don't work Mondays or Fridays, but occassionally do weekend work. ) My main stumbling block would be the wife's working hours. |

Offline | Whoops - I meant take the Oxley Hwy to Port, then turn left and head up to Coffs Though it sounds like it adds a fair bit of distance to the trip, perhaps I'll do that route some other time.Cheers |
