one more question to add on to LUV2MINI's:

when can i purchase this 3 yr warranty thing...can i still get it even though i've had my car since august 02 or do you have to buy when your car is delivered?

Where have I been for all these months?

I purchased triple three on delivery, as I was told thats the only way you can do it.

I'm sure you can buy just the third year at any stage during the first two, though you usually have to have good service history to be allowed to extend it.

I heard a 15000km service is $400. I could be wrong though

I paid $1300 for the triple three and it would appear that it will be a saving over normal servicing costs.

Do you guys in Oz get a different to deal to us pommes?

We get the full 3year warranty from the dealer as standard ie free! Or are you taking about a further 3 years ie 6 in total?

Now that's interesting! We get 2 years with extra bucks to take it up to 3. Or am I misinterpreting the deal offered here in Aus?

Thats correct...

two years is standard

AUD$600 for a third year
AUD$1300 for a third year and 60000km servicing included

remember it's usually the local distributor who provides the warranty (at least after the first 12 months)

so do i

warranty is the one area where mini (in australia, along with bmw) is below standard. most offer 3 year warranties as standard, i don't see why bmw/mini can't do the same...

Where have I been for all these months?
