Thanks to everyone and anyone involved in organising what was truly a fantastic day! It was great to meet a few more new people also, and good to once again see some of the people on our first drive come six or seven months ago.

Am looking forward to the movie premiere, and that idea of a trip to Tassie next year sounds superb!

I have a photo gallery of the day here

Cheers,
Tim

and yes Jaydub, Krispy Kreme's are always worth the wait, no matter how many hours it is

Melody and I are very jealous.. All we did over the last couple of days was 2000km of freeway with 35km in the middle of frantic 2nd gear up to Mt Hotham and down again

Again thanks Brad for the huge effort. The video crew had a ball shooting the day and we will put together a video in a few weeks. Nick, if it is still cool to use some of your footage it will help us get a third shot for the edit. We will try and get all of you and your MINI's in the video and if you have that one fab digital picture from the day of you and your MINI and would like in the video, please send it to markc@idt.com.au and we will included it in the edit. Deadline for pictures will be 22-07-03. This video is being made for you and the rest of the NSW MINI2 Club as a memory of a great day with great bunch of people. We will update you soon about what format we will record the video to, VHS or DVD or maybe run a poll to see what is the most popular.

Kind regards,

Mark Cooper.

Great idea Go Coops,

A DVD would be my vote. We should have a good collection of stills from 'divinity' by the end of the week which will give us some more material to include.

Anybody else who would like their favourite pic from the July run included should email it to admin@MINI2.com.au

Our next Run is September 14 two weeks before the NRL Grand Final. Any problems with this date should be posted ASAP.

'MINI Garage Sydney' is sponsoring the September Run.

Guess where we might be going! Clues: Breakfast may be with the LORD and we may be climbing the mountain

More clues soon.

ah crap

some mail came in the post yesterday from the Commander of French's Forest police station.

yep - thats right, a $153 fine for not obeying a No Stopping sign on The Strand in Dee Why at 7:54am on Sunday.

son of a *****

At least there's no demerit points involved...

Unfortunately it was a red No Stopping sign, and I'm guessing it's a more severe penalty than for not obeying a No Standing sign.

Mind you I was relieved to open the letter and find that ticket, rather than something else I've been fearing turning up in the post from the police for the last few months...

Virtual Cop!

So does that now mean that you can get booked for any taffic offence without being served a ticket! Did this guy have a camera or any record of the event. Or was he just bummed out that he missed out on one of the new Police MINI's. That sucks!!

Makes you wonder? "right big brother"

I'm not going to deny I knew what I was doing - but driving a car thats only 3m long, I didn't think I was protruding into the no stopping zone too much. And being 7am on a Sunday and only parking for about an hour I thought I'd be safe. Obviously not.

When everyone screamed that I was getting booked I just ran straight out of the cafe for the car, barely even looking at the officer in the Hwy Patrol car stopped next to it, fired it up and drove away.

So the cheeky ******* posted the ticket because I wasn't there to be given it.

Can't the police just leave me alone? I'm not that bad am I?

A guy I know go off of a huge DUI charge because the Police booked him while he was not in his car. The cops followed his car and he pulled into his driveway and jumped out of the car with his keys. He was then charged and taken to the station. He was back on the road a month later. Maybe see a lawyer if you need to save the points on your license.
