Normally if you tell Mr Ranger on the gate that your just driving though and not stopping they don't charge you for park entry. It always works in the Royal National Park and I've been through Bobbin head on a car club run where it was ok also. 2003 MCS

Re: NSW: Entries Poll for July 13 Drive Cover Charge: To help cover costs including insurance, day paks etc we will need to charge $20 per attending vehicle. [/b][/quote] just out of interest, what kind of insurance cover are you organising for the day? from what i gather, you need to organise insurance if you do a run with more than x number of cars? but i don't really understand that concept if we all have comprehensive car insurance anyway. is it a requirement of the car insurance companies - is our normal insurance void on such a run? of course, i've got no problems with the insurance thing, since we don't want to get into any trouble do we? thanks also for organising day packs...i think they are a great idea Where have I been for all these months?

For the record I would prefer to keep away from dirt roads for a variety of reasons ... firstly, my car is brand new and stone chips don't fill me with feelings of joy ... secondly, the chance that someone is going to have an 'incident' is much higher on dirt/gravel than bitumen In the interests of keeping it safe I think it would be preferable, at a minimum, to make any off road sections of the day optional, and provide alternate sealed routes for the less adventurous

Re: Re: NSW: Entries Poll for July 13 Drive Hi jaydub, Good question re insurance. Unfortunately even though we all have comprehensive insurance there is also a potential public risk liability for any organiser of any event. That even includes organising a marbles tournament for the local school kids. Ridiculous as it may seem, a passerby may trip over one of us poor sods who is checking out an after market brake system on one of our attendees MCS/MC's and sue us for obstructing their right of way. Who pays for the legals defending such a case? I know it is bloody stupid to think this may happen however that is the way of things in the new litigious Australia. Did you know that Aus is now the most litigant country in the western world even surpassing our US cousins for ******** claims? Did you also know that less than 2% of total revenue collected by insurance companies is actually paid out in settlements? Who is bull******** who here? Unfortunately we, the majority of law abiding citizens are asked to pay for that minority of ********s who want to push the envelope making frivolous claims. As for the day paks and pics etc. A map will cost us about $8 and the pics/prints will cost us about $4-$6 per pak. Dependant on the numbers we should round off to around $18-$20 for the paks including insur.

Re: Re: Re: NSW: Entries Poll for July 13 Drive damn those bloody insurance companies and lawyers the world would be a better place if there weren't these idiots who think they can sue for every little thing after watching judge judy well, let's hope that at least someone will have some aftermarket brake system for us to check out Where have I been for all these months?

Reccy Starting Point Meet 8.30am Tuesday June 17 Freshwater Restaurant Car Park (end of Moore Road - see map below). The drive route for our reccy will be decided by the Poll Friday June 13. Starting point will be the same. Weather promises to be fine so we can look forward to a nice day away from the desk. Bring your digital cameras.
