Offline | If you want great service and some Ideas talk to Ray Jones at the Wheel Factory in Queanbeyan NSW. 02 62977988 I recently had 17X7.5 1000 Miglia HT3 wheels fitted to my MCS and they are lighter and look great. I went for a good allround performance street tyre. They are Firenza's which are an offshoot of Falken and Sumitomo. After scubbing the shinny surface of the tyre they have been fantastic and I would rate them against Bridgstone s02's and Goodyear F1's. about $170 a tyre and the wheels where about $370 each. Give Ray a call... he knows what fits and what wont... See how you go |

Offline | Car Shine or The Mag Wheel Centre in Melbourne has no problems with Rims and non-run flats. I know they have even fitted some with 18". Just watch for the Hub and offset when chosing a rim. In fact most wheel/tyres shops will not have a problem supplying you rims and tyres that is non-run flat. As it is a common up grade for most cars. Some shops are offering 17" rims as low are $200 a rim. (Watch for the quality. You do pay for what you get). Hub fit is very important, make sure there is no unwanted stress on the studs (a lot of shops over look/don't care about this). Offset is for insurance and road worthy needs. Mini's are FWD cars thus, you are only allowed to have the offset change increased but 0.5". The Vic road web site will confirm that. If there is still a problem, Simmons can custom make a set of rims for you. The Goodyear F1 is a good tyre & good value as the price has dropped as they are now made in Thailand and not Germany. Most tyres that are made in Asia besides Japan is cheaper then Europe. Even Michelin have some range that is cheaper as they are made in China. Good luck, ShermanM Remember to accelerate ShermanM |

Offline | Just done more home work on non-run flat 17" tyres. Evo mag. did a gaint tyres test on 215/45 17" with a Ford Focus ST 170 (Similiar to MCS for weight and power). The overall top 3 findings are as follows: 1st Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, 2nd Continental Sport Contact, 3rd Toyo Proxes T1-S. I have also heard a lot of good reports from friends on the Toyo. Infact Wheels mag. this year have rated it one of the best sport tyres. Hope this will help you. ShermanM Remember to accelerate ShermanM |

Offline | I have been looking into Yokohama AVS ES100, which have received rave reviews globally. Prices have been: 205/45R17 ~$245 205/50R16 ~$215 It looks as though most manufacturers have a 205/45R17 at under $300. |

Offline | Thanks Chris Again sorry for the silly question before. I plan on keeping the 17 inch X Lites on the S but will definately get rid of the run flats......i can get 2 and a bit non run flat tyres eg TOYO"S or something to 1 run flat tyre and the non run flats would perform better. My only concern is Mini Mobility.......will they tow us even though we have different tyres on.......Puncture in a can sounds good.... Thanks For The Info ![]() Nick Dark Silver/White MCS Build/June 2002 |

Offline | Nothing is safer then a spare tyre. I had a car before with a mobility system. It does not work with a large cut. It will just leak all the form. Remember to accelerate ShermanM |
