Talking Eastern Creek Fun!!

Hi Guys,

The drive day at Eastern Creek on Wednesday was huge fun. The photos from the day have just come in and I thought you might like this one - some may even recognise the car/driver! Not an uncommon scene around the back of the circuit!!More photos of skid pan and track action are at www.eventsoneill.com Go to parc ferme then photographic gallery.

Hi Luke,

Great photo!

Remember photos do not lie!

The mini has wasted the M3 in the background and is about to do the same to the drop dead gorgeous yellow Ferrari!

That is what I love about the Burrows drive days! Lots of great cars, mixing on the track in a safe environment!

Check out the photos from Lukes links, they are awesome, especially the skidpan!

Robbo

That's awesome, Jugman!! I haven't seen that photo before! I remember the day, it was April this year. The Beema driver was a new guy to the day and I had heard there was some pretty cool sliding going on around the back of the track. Wonder if AJ was checking his mirrors?!!

I'll take your Jag, and raise you a Lambo (albeit in the wet on a skid pan!)

Hi,

Great photos everyone!

Boo, the car was great at Eastern Creek. I sent you a PM with details. It was obviously enough to scare the yellow ferrari driver.

Also, with regards to the picture of the mini overtaking the ferrari, please look carefully, and you will notice the ferrari driver has his left arm raised out the roof, signalling me to overtake. That is why I am so close. It is a great feeling to have a ferrari wave you by!

What a nice fellow... On a track is the true spirit of driving, in every way. None of this road rage crap.

Hey Booa and Robbo,

There were a few drivers who commented to me on how quick the Mini was going around the back of the circuit, so it was certainly noticed.

Hi,

A stock mini is a firm, sporty ride. Once you have modified the suspension it becomes even more so. After driving your modified mini with big bars, springs, etc any "Pug" would certainly feel "spongy". Even my M3 feels spongy now after driving the modified mini!

Have you ever tried "drifting" a front wheel drive mini?? Technically it is not possible. However, after many hours of trying, I submit my best effort

Robbo

PS : There is a way to drift or oversteer a FWD car, namely run it at high speed IN REVERSE. Instantly a FWD turns to a RWD! Sounds crazy??? Actually it was tried several times on the skid pan at the Eastern creek driveday!

Other than that, there's what's been discussed in general discussion. Approach a corner at massive speed, and jump off the gas, causing the back end to often lose traction. I'd say it's more common on a track than on the roads... give it a go next time you're somewhere...
