Seriously, not a big fan of them because dirt and dust get's in between the bra the the paint work and rubs like sand paper after a year or so + flapping on the paintwork while driving

a lot of our reps actually removed them for that reason.

The other problem with them is that if you are unfortunate enough to have an off, and gently nudge something, the "bra" has to go somewhere, so all the mounting points are usually damaged.

darn, i was gonna post that pic when i saw the subject of this thread...but u beat me to it brett...

where can i get that mod? beats bonnet stripes any day!

on the subject of real car bras...the reason i don't like them, apart from brett and swamos's reasons, is that i'm yet to see one that looks good. they make the car look really ugly and a car such as the Mini definitely shouldn't be hidden under one.

Where have I been for all these months?

There's that pic again. I must admit that those twin bonnet bulges are way sexier than the those on the Mercedes SLK.

Thanks people sound like bras are not the way to go. Are there any other ways to protect the front of my MINI. I do a bit of highway driving and really dont want to have the front all chipped.

Cheers

Mate, always remember to have a look at the FAQ's. There is one just about this. There is a company in Stafford that can do a cler coverings. Not sure about the MINI though. There is a company in Melbourne called Quattro Sports Zentrum, and they make clear bras for the MINI from the 3m stuff. The only problem is that it is very expensive.

I've decided that with the $600 I save by not getting one, I'll just repaint the bonnet in 5 years time for $150. The other thing to watch is that a lot of stone chips can be avoided by simply not following the car in front too closely

Are you interested in meeting with other MINI owners in clubMINI??
