Offline | First year completed Just to let you all know that Spazz and I have now had our cars for 1 year. We got ours on the same day (August 20, 2002), they were delivered on the same boat, etc. Something really spooky with our mobile numbers too. It's been one incredible year. I've gone from being a middle-aged nobody to a youthful, good looking celebrity, where people point and wave as I go by. I've had the time of my life driving alone along some great roads, and sharing some roads and experiences with a great bunch of new people and friends right around Australia and even the world. Owning a MINI has really changed my life and I hope will continue to do so for a long time. Anyhow, happy anniversary Spazz. (Spazz showed me how to get heaps of excitement out of my MINI.) Thanks for that, buddy. (I think I saw you today driving towards the city at 4:15 pm on the Eastern Freeway.) Last edited by eltel : Aug 21st, 2003 at 12:23 PM. |

Offline | God, you're quick, Boo. How's the trip going? And your lovely wife? Please give her our best wishes from way over here in the best country in the world. I was going to go to Sandown this Sunday, but we have obligations to attend a surprise birthday party at lunchtime, so that's out. I have Phillip Island coming up Oct 3, looking forward to that. Then DECA (Shepparton) in Nov. I've bought myself a set of wheels, same as my others, 5-star white 16". Sort of got them free, so took them. I watched Nick Stillwell run their JCW MCS in the Dutton Rally last weekend and he came in 1st on handicap. The car was very punchy against a pile of STIs, 996s, 993s, etc. Nick was very happy with the performance of the JCW. AJ, I hope that you'll take me for a ride when you get yours done. ![]() Regards, ElTel |

Offline | I can´´t wait to get to Phillip Island... ANd i agree with you in regards to Australia being the best... Am resting up here on the beach at the Spanish city of Alacante on the Mediteranean and i can guarantee you one thing... No-one does beaches like we do in Australia ![]() Although if you have to, Biarritz on the France/Spanish border is pretty damn good, just bloody crowded ... Melody is doing great.... we are heading up to Valencia in a couple of days to attend the festival of LaTomatina which is basically a Tomato fight in the middle of a town invloving 4 semi trailer loads of tomatos and thousands of people ![]() ![]() ![]() Sounds good about the wheels. Get in touch with Robbo as he uses those same wheels for the track.. Use up the 17´´s first though Will talk soon, have fun ![]() ![]() The original SWORKS |

Offline | Winton Excitement This is one of the shots that robbo took in my camera, so it's taken a while to get it up. Great shot of the wheels. I was going pretty hard there doing 120+ heading to turn 1. Sorry, pics aren't posting since the upgrade. I'll keep trying. Last edited by eltel : Aug 21st, 2003 at 12:02 PM. |

| MINI Traitor | Congratulations lads I hope you are well andrew and Melody ![]() Our car turned 1 on the 19th, and this did not go unnoticed. It has been quite a year. I've met lots of nice people, and spent more time having fun driving than I have in the past. To give you all some idea of the insanity, we held a birthday party for Min on Saturday night. I have photographic evidence ![]() Happpy birthday to Min, happy birthday to Min.... Why was she born so beautiful, why was she born at all..... ![]() Clubman less.... ![]() Last edited by swamos : Aug 21st, 2003 at 12:39 PM. |

| MINI2 Regular | HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TEZ! The last 12 months have literally flow (no job pun intended!) and it has been spent wiht the greatest bunch of like minded, welcoming and even with the differing ages, young hearted MINIacs! For those of you not yet at the 12 month stage, fear not, coz the fun never stops. My car is absolutely filthy thanks to some recent rain and water restrictions (do they go together?) and it still turns heads, but more in the "look at the zippy mudbrick!" kind of way. Its had to work hard over the last 12 months, clocking up a total of 42,000kms. A quarter of that being on my Melbourne - Canberra - Sydney - Brisbane - Rocky - Carins and back trip. The car is sending me psychic messages to go back to brissy, I think it loved the road that swamos intoduced it to! Thanks Steve! ![]() Thanks for the message Boo. Glad to see you two are having a great time. The updates are always a joy to read! Thanks Tez for being my MINI buddy, even if it is in a rather freaky (is it fate?) kind of way. You've introduced me to some of the great roads of this state, and your company on an early sundy morning drive, or even a convoy up to Sydney for a very special wedding have been invaluable. And now you have a whole spare set of runflats, I know who to call if I ever have a pressure problem! ![]() |

Offline | Happy Birthday / Anniversary Terry and the Mini! Glad to hear you are enjoying your mini experience! Just like you I was a middle aged nobody until I got the mini. I am still a middle aged nobody, but at least I have a bloody big smile on my face every time I get in the car! It seems to bring a smile to the face of many people. It is amazing how many people approach you, ask questions, want to look at the car etc. I have only had my mini for 6 months, but already I have had to the opportunity to meet some great people with similar interests, and make great friends. Hopefully I will be able to catch up with you at Phillip Island! By the way, I have the 16 5-spoke wheels for the track. I am running Dunlop Formula R D01-J tyres, 205-16-50. If you are interested I think the Victorian dealer is Stuckey Tyre Service, Brunswick, 93865331 Robbo |
