Offline | 300BHP Cooper S kit coming soon! AMD Technik are very close to producing a 300BHP kit for the Mini Cooper S. At the heart of it is a new, significantly larger supercharger (see pic) Distributer in Australia will be QSZ in Melbourne. This kit does NOT include NOS which indicates just how phenomenal the new supercharger is! BMW E36 M3R Alpine White - Engine : 6 cylinder; DOHC 24 valve Capacity : 2990cc Power : 243KW @ 7000 rpm Torque : 323NM @ 3900rpm Produced : Jan - May 1995 How many :15 ONLY Last edited by Greendevil : Sep 3rd, 2003 at 02:06 AM. |

Offline | 210kW through the front wheels and MINI drivetrain! In order to make that sort of power useable you're going to need either a LSD or probably more likely ECU restricted power delivery in 1st & 2nd ... midrange acceleration should be blistering However I'm not that convinced that it is a practical configuration ... I could see you eating a set of tyres on a monthly basis And without reineforcement I could see the drivetrain being eaten pretty quickly as well Happy to take it for a test drive though ![]() |

Offline | Hi, I think that is completely crazy, and not for me! This car can only handle so much power. With my mods I am probably around 210-220hp (although I have not dynoed). I also have track tyres and suspension mods. Just trust me, that is more than enough. More power just means more wheel spin. On the track I have to ease off the throttle at 120-130km/hr in third because of wheel spin. God knows what it would be like with 300hp. Realistically any more than 200hp is a waste. In a straight line you are struggling to get power down to the ground. Coming out of a corner, forget anything like full throttle! Nevermind what it is going to do to your drivetrain etc. With all my mods my car is faster around the track, but I think most of the gain is from the suspension and tyres rather than the engine upgrades. Offline | I know of a guy who works for AMDTechnik in the UK and am trying to hook up with him when I'm there in a few weeks. I heard something about them having a 300bhp MCS - this must be what it was all about! ![]() |

Offline | Robbo, what mods have you done to get 210bhp? BMW E36 M3R Alpine White - Engine : 6 cylinder; DOHC 24 valve Capacity : 2990cc Power : 243KW @ 7000 rpm Torque : 323NM @ 3900rpm Produced : Jan - May 1995 How many :15 ONLY |

Offline | Yes, it is a real problem on the track. However, that only happens on curves, not on straights, and is due to the front wheel drive setup. A prime example is "corporate hill" at Eastern Creek. This is a long sweeping off camber left hander. Coming through the corner I am in third gear around 5000rpm. I can ease on the throttle very carefully to around 40% with no spin. Any harder and one of the front wheels is spinning like crazy. If you are dubious, come out to the track and I will show you! Offline | Hi, My mods are : Hartge kit Hartge exhaust Cold air intake Intercooler sprayer Coil overs with spring settings tailored for track Adjustable rear and front camber Adjustable thicker rear bar Braided brake lines with track pads Track tyres Harness / extinguisher Total cost so far is equivalent to the JCW price. To tell you the truth I have no idea what power my car is making. I dont really care for artificial dyno figures, and have no interest in dynoing the car. I am going to post a comprehensive review in a few weeks. I have been holding off, because I have still been fine tuning various parts eg exhaust, suspension and spring settings etc. On 21st I go to Oran Park GP. Then I will be able to post before and after times for 3 tracks, as well as having enough day to day driving experience to post meaningful results. Robbo |

Offline | Yes it is an invite! We need more mini owners to get involved in motorsport. Why dont you come out to the BMW NSW club event at Oran Park on 21/9? You can come and watch and see how the mini runs. At the BMW event I cant take you for laps, and you can only watch, but it would be great to have you there. Even better, you could join the club, and sign up for the event and participate yourself! Check out the website www.bmwclubnsw.asn.au BTW if you really want to be a passenger in my mini on the track, it can be arranged, but not at the BMW events (which are CAMS events and strictly regulated).
