| MIN-118 | Will someone please fill me in with the details of a very strange Mini that I have seen on the road? Am I seeing things or is there really an ORANGE Mini on the streets of Sydney? Im really confused... was it hit with the wrong angles of the sun or is it really... O*R*A*N*G*E!??!!?! With a white roof as well... My boy has informed me that he too has seen it on the road, but I have yet to question his eyesight. I was driving (in my MINI) from home to uni last week I think maybe friday just approaching the Anzac bridge going out to the city, when I saw that UFM merge in front of me. But it was a bit far away cos there were so many cars in front of me! I was wearing sunnies at the time so I wasnt sure... I tried my hardest to squeeze thru dirty traffic... I got so close... just in front... and then it just FLEW away once it reached the bridge. Not saying it was fast or anything, I was just dirtied by a few cars in front and I had lost it. Im so mad!!! I wanted to take a good look but it just ran... thus the Unidentified Flying Mini. If you are that culprit with the orange mini, SHOW URSELF! I want to see your car heheh... because I want a paint job done to my car as well... I want mine PINK! If anyone has any info on paint prices and pictures of Pink minis pls let me know!!! Oh yeh im really getting the SH*TS at some Mini drivers on the road. Not only are there SOOOOOO FRIGGIN many on the roads these days but most of them are pretty rude as well! (I dont think they're ppl in this forum tho). They make me look like an idiot when I wave at them or give them two tonks on the horn~ cos they just give me a dirty look!!! Like GEEZ!!! The other day while driving down oxford street I really couldnt stand it! Minis were everywhere... I counted 5 along on oxford street and anzac parade (in the timespan of 10mins) and I was saying to my friend on the phone that Im really gonna get the #)%*# if I see a sixth one... and I did. 5 mins later. Coming out from my favourite carpark *sniff* but he was a real nice guy and greeted me with genuine Mini respect. Hehehe he wound down his windows and I said "Nice car!" he reciprocated... of course. |

Offline | Yup! I have seen the orange beast too, thought theres something wrong with my eyes. But after hearing Tim(IML337) who also spotted it, I feel better knowing my eyes are OK. It actually started life as EB, as Tim saw it's door open and the insides of the doors are still in EB. |

Offline | I saw it on Warringah Fwy, it was on the other side heading towards Bridge/Tunnel found Tim's post over at Vortex forum... "Saw an *ORANGE* Cooper S with a white roof in St Leonards on Friday. I was driving past it as the driver got out, and I was thinking "Orange wasn't an option?!" and then as I passed I looked back in the mirror and saw the back/inside of the door as he opened it. The Paint was electric blue Obviously an aftermarket respray, though it actually looked nice! It was a promotional car for "Now Event Management" or something." |

Offline | hmmm, not much we can do about the many MINI's in Oxford St. The MINI and the Peugot 206 are apparently the two most popular cars amongst g@y men. What can I say? I am very secure about my sexuality so it doesn't bother me, at least those who chose the MINI have style. maybe we'll see the MINI's in The G&L Mardi Gras. I'm sure you could find a panel shop sympathetic to the cause and get them to paint your MINI pink.Don't worry about the Non Wavers, they just don't get it, they're just too cool. 02 MCS gone after 2 years of fun and new friends, and 10 visits to the service dept at Brisbane BMW. Offline | Poor Steve you are a jaded man. Is the Vienta an exclusive colour or do they offer that colour on the Camry too ![]() 02 MCS gone after 2 years of fun and new friends, and 10 visits to the service dept at Brisbane BMW. | MINI Traitor | WSW, I'm with you there. That Estorill Blue is very nice. I'll have to make sure it really is "exclusive" to BMW's flagship models before it can truly be considered as an option. I might make some enquiries today ![]() I wonder if MINI would like to copy the colour scheme off my Lotus as well just to make sure..... ![]() Last edited by swamos : Sep 5th, 2003 at 02:32 AM. |
