Offline | Hi, Welcome to the board. Nice to see someone else interested in tracking the mini. There are no dedicated mini track days. Possible options are : NSW BMW club : there are usually a few minis (including mine). Reasonably priced, and a nice bunch of people. Limited instruction available, mostly for beginners. Check out www.bmwclubnsw.asn.au Events O'Neill / Burrows drive day : probably the best drive days around. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. A HUGE amount of tracktime, good instruction, technical help, professional photographers, great people and cars. Check out www.eventsoneill.com . By the way, the organiser, Luke, is interested in organising an all mini day. If someone is looking to go on the track for the first time, this is definitely the best option. Motoconcepts : cheaper than the O'Neill days, but less well organised in my opinion. More "hoons" and in my opinion less safe Other car clubs : Most other clubs, eg MX5, WRX, HSV etc, etc will let you participate no matter what car you drive, as long as you join up. Track open days : most tracks have open days. At Wakefield park you dont need a cams licence, for other tracks you generally need a cams license. These days are a mixed bag. You may end up on the track by yourself or alternatively you may end up with dozens of racecars or hoons all trying to outbrake you clean you up on the corner. No instruction. In my opinion these are only for experienced drivers. Attached is a picture of my mini overtaking a ferrari at an events oneill day Robbo |
