Offline | Hi, Congratulations! Absolutely awesome result. I was following the results on the internet, and was amazed by the performance of the mini. What is the difference between the "touring" category and the "modern" category. Two Evos in the modern category were driven by guys from the BMW club (Martin Higgins and Keith Wannop) and both did extremely well. Other people I know in a Lotus (Williamson/Ready) and Porsche (Searly/Greaves) didn't seem to be doing so well, but I haven't seen the final results. In your class is it a full on timed race, or are there points for navigation, regularity etc? I would appreciate any tips, and would love to enter one of these events. Where and when is the Dutton rally? I was also thinking of the trading post grand prix rally. Once again, congratulations, and thanks for spanking some supercars and earning our car the respect it deserves Robbo |

Offline | Yes, we know by experience that the works kit will, depending on the driver and the surprise factor, definitely take out a 355 Spyder. I just wonder if the surprise factor will last the whole 1800km. Congratulations. |

Offline | Rally Touring is for standard cars Competition is full roll cage fire suit FAI rules ie lots of money Target times are set in touring to reduce speed in dangerous sections But basically you drive as fast as you can without killing yourself on closed bitumen roads ie Targa Tasmania style YIPEE MF Downunder |

Offline | Absolutely fantastic result well done Matt!!! Like Tim said, having the right car is pointless unless you have someone to drive it appropriately Obviously I pity the navigator If 5 days of driving like a maniac only cost you a set of rear tyres I'm extremely impressed ![]() |

Offline | Cooper S is the best value for money race car Well done guys.. i am highly impressed. I have raced my mini as well and know what it is capable of. In my mind i still cant find a car for the price that has the outright handling and performance of the MCS. Can be quiet embarrasing for all these "so called Sports cars" owners to see a 45k brand new car whipping there butts... Again well done and hope to see some pics. |

Offline | Sensational result Matt. I was checking the results with an old stager, Blair Hayden who campaigns a very quick Jag in the Targa. Blair passes his regards and looks forward to a chat when we meet at his pub (Lord Nelson) for breakfast before the Sept Drive. For those who follow the Targa, Blair is having a lunch for some of the Targa competitors at the Nelson next Sunday (Sept 14). All motoring enthusiasts are welcome. Contact The Lord Nelson on 92514044 to book a seat. |
