Offline | alrighty, i've been looking into a new PDA & therefore been researching how i'd go about getting it to do SatNav for me! there's a wealth of info on overseas applications, but i'm wondering whether the software & maps etc are available [or of a high enough quality] in australia!?! anybody's experiences or research woud be most appreciated, expecially if you've discovered a way to get SatNav working on PalmOS-based PDAs! cheers guys .g Last edited by gazah : Sep 11th, 2003 at 01:39 AM. |

Offline | I have purchases a NAVIGATOR for my HP5450 PDA which is the windows based PDA. Navigator has a clear and detailed maping but sometimes the Program will tell you to turn where you are not permitted eg. No Right Turn ,etc I want to know if the Navman does this or not. By the way Navman told me that there products are now available from **** Smiths's Powerhouse branches Go and have a look |

Offline | the bluetooth versions of both models mentioned seem a fantastic idea, now just to get some prices! hmmmmm... trelo, even the factory satnav asks you to do stupid things, like chucking U turns across big median strips etc if you're heading in the wrong direction... but it soon works out an alternative route if you take the next available turn! but if your software if planning a route for you using invalid turns etc then i'd be a little concerned, they should have this basic info to work with! i presume you typed the full name of the store... it's funny that the forum software automatically edited it, not good for ****'s business! i'll check them out! |

Offline | The factory nav has tried to get me to make right turns at no right turn intersections, but it's never asked me to do inappropriate u-turns. Remember, it only has the info that is in the street directory. I don't think they have no right turn intersections indicated in street directories do they? ![]() |
