| MINI2 Regular | http://mini.thepilo.com/ Go there, he made a camera mount and had a demo video of it in action at an auto x. You might not be looking to buy, but it might help you. http://www.mini2.com/gallery/persona...CS/sig3txt.jpg The second 2004 MINI with a stress cracked windshield, missed #1 by a few days! (I refer to my MINI as he/him/Andre in my posts) |

Offline | Hi, Depends a little on what kind of event it is. If it is a CAMS sanctioned event then you are unlikely to get away with much. The car will be scutineered, and any potentially loose fittings will get extra scrutiny. However, if it is a private event there are many options. However, make sure it is well secured! The G-forces on the track are high. From experience I can tell you the last thing you need in mid-corner at 160km is something flying around in the cabin and landing amongst your pedals. Robbo |

Offline | Brett, Have a talk to TRELO...he made one out of the top of a camera tripod and mounted it on those vents on the centre of the top of the dash...he says it works really well on the track... Where have I been for all these months? |

Offline | Yes , I have made one using the top section of a camera tripod , this enable's me easy release of camera as I have one peice which stays on the air-con vents permanantly with tie-straps and the other section attatches to the camera. This works brilliantly without any shake. |

| UberGeek | I made one yest. Bit of pipe with a clamp at each end that grips the columns of the head rests. I bought a 'ball' type adapter to go on the bottom of the DV camera (like this: http://www.jessops.com/search/viewpr...WORD_SEARCH=N&) . The thread on the bottom of the adapter was M6, so that was tapped out to M10 to match the M10 thread on the 'clamp', and then it was just a bit of M10 bolt between the two to hold em together. Taking pics today, will post later/tomorrow. Lee Last edited by punkeyfunky : Sep 17th, 2003 at 08:41 AM. |

Offline | Howdy Brett, Last trip I zip tied the handy cam to the parcel tray at the back. The parcel tray has that grill in the middle that allows you to get the zip ties around the camera at all angles. Just make sure there is something on the camera, like the mounting where the strap goes, that you can pass a zip tie through and then around the parcel tray grill. This worked really well, and did not move, you just need to start you camera before you get on the track, thus you end up with 10 minutes of not much at the begining of you recording The angle is pretty good for seeing out the front window, but you can't see the speedo or tacho, actually you will be able to see your tacho cause it's in the middle You also get the nice exhaust noise from the back as well ![]() See you Saturday ![]() |

Offline | Thanks Every one. I ended up zip tying the video camera to the aircon vents onto of the dash board. It was perfect. didn't move and I was actually able to see the cars bonnet and the road ahead of me. I was able to zoom in and out while driving. As they say the simple things in life are often the best. So thanks guys for your ideas.
