Aussie Only Tuning

Due to the number of tuning threads popping up lately I thought I might set up this thread so you can all post any information that is relevent to the tuning the mini in Australia.

Any general tuning stuff should be posted in the relevent tuning forum (after a search has been done to see if it has been discussed before). If there is something that you feel you really need to post in the Aussie area, tell me and I will then move it to the performance and tuning area and leave a re-direct in the Aussie forum so all your mates can see it

AFAIK the Helix setup and GIAC software are available in Australia, with reps in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Please note, pricing shown on the Helix website is in US$ and may not be correct for the Australian market. For instance, the GIAC flashloader price is out by about the same again. I have been looking into it for a bit as GIAC has a pretty good name with ECU tuning for VWs and Audis.

It was in Kirrawee as of Tuesday, but was lent out to a guy (not on these forums) who wanted to have a go with it on his race prepped JCW. He was pretty ****ed off when I left him in my mirrors so wanted to try it.
Dont have his number so will have to wait til my mechanic tells me its back. Im waiting as well due to some new files being sent over
I'll post when it returns. BUT, if you plan to go the other route, i'd advise to get your own cable as you never know when you might need/ want to upload.

(on the other hand, you're one brave man to do this - there's 4-5000 Mini's today and aren't likely to grow my quicker than that...then a lot of people are happy with the way their is)
