Offline | tm75tm, Got them from Beaurepaires at Fortitude Valley. Have already mentioned to Travis (the manager) that he would probably get some enquiry (based on the fact that I think it is a bloody good price). If you call them, remind him you you wre refered by Peter. ![]() ![]() Good luck |

Offline | If anyone's running 16s and wants a brand new set of Falken Azenis RT215's, let me know. They're the same tread compound and pattern as Rob and Evil. I can source 3 sets of 205/55/16's at $150 a corner. That makes them 10mm taller than Evil's 205/50/16's but they are actually very close to the same overall diametre as the standard 195/55/16 runflats. At $600 a set, thats $280 cheaper than the 50 series. Makes them a cheap alternative for those that are out there simply to have some fun, and a hell of a lot cheaper than replacing your road tyres. |

Offline | Hi, That looks a very good compromise deal! Cheap, but better track performance. There are some compromises there in terms of the size of the tyre, and the performance of the Falkens. However, if you are not chasing the last second that represents excellent value for money! Also, remember, you can run these tyres on the road with reasonable performance and moderate wear. You could unmount your runflats, leave them in the garage and drive around on these things every day. Even if they wore down quickly you have to consider that you could probably go through 3 sets for the price of one run flat set! Anytime you get sick of the falkens you could remount your others tyres for around $60. My only concern would be that based upon the look of the tread pattern you probably cant flip the tyres on the rim to prolong track wear. Robbo |

Offline | I also wish to add an observation about tyres for the track. I have Bridgestone Potenza's which are very similar to the D-O1 Dunlops (which Robbo uses). From what i've seen, Robbo and i are getting around 8 - 10 hard track days out of them (some comprising of approx 150-200km) which when you take in the price is good value for money at $1300 a set. The runflats would have been dead after just two of the relatively hard track days that we run. I ran 7 track days before i left and still had 50% of the tread left (two of them being 180 km each day ![]() )..I think that when deciding you should definitely ask the questions to the right people such as Queensland Raceway to make sure you get the right compounds in relation to how many track days you think you will be doing. I would encourage those who want to do regular track days to invest an extra 80 - 100 per tyre for semi-slicks because in the end they will probably last you a year or more depending on how much you use them. Hope this helps.. ![]() ![]() The original SWORKS |

Offline | Vincent, Sorry didn't get your message earlier. Keith for Wheels at Springwood/Slacks Creek/Woodridge has the 205/55/16 RT215's. Don't forget to read Robbo and Boo's posts before yours. The price on these tyres is excellent, but as they indicated, there are better tyres, but you will be paying at least twice the price to get them. The Falkens are street legal, but they won't last long on the road and you wouldn't want to take them out in the wet. m1n130 is running the same tyre in a 215/45/17 if you want advice on the tyre. |

Offline | I also agree with kenhenry that the Azenis would probably be a good first investment if you want to spend less money and still get out there and have fun. They are considerably less than semi-slicks and more attractive than chewing road tyres ![]() ![]() The original SWORKS |

Offline | Howdy All, Just a quick update on this Saturday for those that are coming along. We will meet at 10.00 at McDonalds at Goodna then travel out to Queensland Raceway together: 11.30 - Sign On 12.00 - Safety Brief 1.00 - On track depending on numbers The costs are as follows: $30.00 - Track License, good for 12 months at QR only. $40.00 - First 7 laps $25.00 - Second 7 Laps Third set of 7 laps are free. Those that paid for their license last time need not purchase another this time around. We have not got enough interest in the garage, so we will give that a miss this month, we will try again next month. Remember to wear long sleeve shirts and long pants with shoes, don't forget your helmet, no thongs, bare feet, singlets etc. etc. Look forward to seeing everyone there ![]() Catch Ya - Rob |

Offline | I've had experience with both Yoko A032R's and Toyo RA1's and between these two theres nothing in it. Lots of guys run Dunlop R's in targa type events, their suppose to be quite a good wet tyre. Not sure on pricing but RA1's should be really cheap compared to other R spec tyres, their not a real sexy tread but seem to work well. Theres nothing like real world testing though, I'd be trying a different make each time I need a new set. The tyre places will sell you anything so beware 2003 MCS |

Offline | Tofu, Last month was the one and only Cooper run. Brett couldn't make it on Saturday, but he and others will be coming for other days to compete in Class A1. Brett did 1:18:02 as a best lap for 9 points on pretty ragged steet tyres. That put him 6th in class for that day. Not bad when you consider there are Class A2 guys in 1600 supercharged Sprinters on track tyres doing 1:16's. As for the S's, M1N130 did a best lap of 1:07:?? for 10 points and 5th in Class A2 last month on Falken RT-215's. He didn't get there this month. I had a best this month of 1:05:30, with half my laps in the 1:05's on Dunlop D01J's. Still waiting on the points allocation for Saturday. I do know I had faster best lap time than a couple of CV8 Monaros and current model Mustang, all on track tyres. So the MINIs aren't doing too bad at all. |
