Offline | Tofu, swamos is right. I'm the black, black and all black MCS. You might remember me if you check this pic from the day you were there. http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/picture19565.html BTW, the only things that are not genuine MINI in 1:05:30 are the tyres. (I'm back on the lighter 16" OEM 5 spokes for the track, rather than the 17's in the pic) ![]() |

Offline | Sorry Brett, I didn't know you passed an S. Nine points and an S. Now you have got real bragging rights. And yes, the Black Betty does need constant washing, but that's the cost I trying to remain exclusive - hey swamos ![]() |

Offline | Back again. I should read all the posts properly before I reply. Yeah, I always take a trolley jack along. I not sure about your back tyres though. My rears stay fairly intact, it's my fronts that score the wear, but that maybe just to much wheel spin. Anyway see you at the next meet. |

Offline | Hey Evil, You know why that Triumph TR8 was so fast on the straights? Turns out he's running 4.4 litres under the bonnet. From memory, back in the early to mid eighties, the bored and stroked version of the standard 3.5 litre Rover V8 was producing some 400HP. |

Offline | Really?? This was my good rear tyre. It must be my driving style. The front tyres had no wear on the what so ever. just mostly my rear left hand corner from the 1st and 2nd corner driving through that at 110km an hour ![]() 1968 Mk1 Morris Cooper S 1310cc Downton Lake Green - White 1974 Leyland Mini 1098c Country Cream 2008 MINI Cooper S Chilli Pepper White - Black Roof |

Offline | It appears that a lot of that is crud picked up on the track. By the time you got back to St George, most of that should have worn off. How bad were they looking then ? Worn, but better, I hope. Remember, I was on street tyres that day too. I also picked up a lot of crud and they looked pretty ragged, but by the time I got back to Bris they were showing surprisingly little shoulder wear. The rear passengers-side wear indicates oversteer on all the right handers (i.e. every turn, except for the exits from the 2 sets of esses). I expect then that you were also oversteering exiting these too, giving you similar, but lesser where on the driver's-side rear. Is it possible that you were upsetting the car under brakes and then accelerating while the back end was hanging out ? BTW, what tyres were they, and what pressures were you runnung front and rear? |
