Hi all,

I was excited to see the program today for the St George Open Air Cinema at Mrs Macquarie's Chair in the coming two months. This year on Thursday January 15 the screening will be a Mini fan's favourite, The Italian Job. I will definately be going with my Mini.

If you have never been to the Open Air Cinema before, this could be the year for Mini owners. The backdrop for the movie is the Sydney night skyline. On a clear and warm night, you could not hope for a better cinema. I have been for the last couple of years and I can say that it is a fun way of watching a movie (unless it is cold and raining).

Tickets go on sale this Friday 2 January. In my experience the best films sell out really quickly. If you want to go, make sure you get your tickets early.

Best parking is around near the Art Gallery of NSW. It would be great to see lots of other Minis there. Keep an eye out for mine. Dark Silver/White with racing stripes Cooper S.

what'd be great would be getting some tickets reserved for mini2 members in return for packing out the parking spaces with great looking cars!

Unfortunately the Open Air Cinema is sponsored by Toyota and therefore the organisers, whilst appreciative of our approach, are unable to support another brand.

However if a group of us would like to get together on the night we may, depending on numbers, be able to organise something independant of Cinerent.

Anybody who would like to attend the ITJ open air Cinema on January 15 indicate by reply to this thread. Tickets will need to be purchased on Jan 2nd to gaurantee seating. The Club can organise a group purchase to keep us together.

I went to the Italian Job at the Melbourne Open air cinema tonight, I somehow managed to score a park right out the front and when the movie was over I put my Bean Bags in the back and went to pull off, as I was doing this I saw a group of about 5 Mini's doing a few laps out the front so I joined in. It was great people were flashing lights and tooting horns and everyone was waving (got flashed by a couple of chicks but I think it was the new sunnies and not the car that warranted this

). So you Sydney people should get together as from first hand experience its great fun!

anyone keen... only down-side is that parking on mrs macquarie's road is limited, & costs $4.40 an hour!

surely there's gotta be a discount for good-lookin' cars!

Hi all,

I got my tickets just then. Thanks for organising a group booking but I ordered my own since I had other shows to buy. I am taking my girl to 'Love Actually' on Valentines day and I was sure that this show will sell out really quickly (even more quickly than Italian Job).

But the good thing is that she has to go to Italian Job with me because I am taking her to a girlie film on Valentines day. I could not see anything wrong with the Italian Job as a Valenties day special. It was a very romantic film (at least that is what I told her).

Anyway tickets are still available. Hope to see you all there.
