Offline | Sounds like maddog should be driving a V8 Torana. Just like Gazah, it's not my cup of tea, but I think maddog needs to show some respect for number 37. Without it, he wouldn't be driving his current day MINI. |

| MINI2 Master | I just spoke to my dealer about them this morning, he doesn't know much about them except that there are no discounts and they're not eligible for the BMW Executive Preferred Program which I'm getting on mine (fancy name for fleet buying - I'm leasing it). The EPP gives $1800 off delivery, $800 of the total of the car, free floormats, an extra year of roadside assist, and you can do the drive training with Geoff Brabham for $150 instead of $500. There might be other stuff as well. |

| MINI2 Regular | I dont like it, maybe is rare and unique but If Bmw is trying to make a conmemorative edition it would be racing and making something really special, I love minis, but they dont have anything to do with the original one, just because is painted the same colors, that does not make any heritage as any other normal bmw mini, they are trying to full around with all of us just marketing. Sorry for the once they all ready ask for one, I like it but not the price and all the exx ment. To much marketing, Bmw is starting to be as fordon the 80īs taurus 88 and a half, come on my miniis just 7 months old, and they are all ready JCW, Italian job Edition and now this, maybe in one month more they will get the Mr bean edition. no f(888In way. Come on. |

Offline | Alot of people buy MINIs because they are different to other cars. They stand out from the crowd. Ordering a MINI from the options list allows you to build something unique to you, an extension of yourself. This Monte Carlo edition is an opportunity for a few people to be just that little bit MORE unique. Hopefully one day they will be a collectors item. As far as the 'Italian Job' kit is concerned, it is not a true limited edition. |

Offline | Not the same as US version Please note that the Aussie Montecarlo edition is not the same as the US one (much less extensive changes and probably much cheaper). For example, the wheels on the Aussie version are the normal 17" S-spokes and not the fancy pants 2 piece US ones - also no Carbon Fibre dash etc... |

Offline | Well Darth Cooper if you could see through that blinding mask and looked at the pics you would see that I am right and you are wrong, for it is just an un-authentic knockoff of an event which should not be cheapened by stickers and ltd edition plaques. However, if you like cheap and nasty things, which you seem to, you should not of bought a mini. If this edition had altered components such as either a larger turbo, front mounted intercooler or four wheel drive, it might be worthy of the MC Rallye badge but it does not! p.s. Anakin, save yourself the embaressment of trying to talk to other Mini owners and go and buy a Ford Festiva 'Sportsgirl' limited edition! |

Offline | Sorry maddog, I have been unavoidably detained with things which I consider important. Regarding your comments - if you re-read my original post, I agreed with most others, that the MC40 was not to my personal taste. Unfortunately, I am not the fashion guru that you appear to be. I thought it was just a marketing concept, not the piece of - now what did you call it ?- oh! that's right - @#$%!. After all, there a MINI owners out there that have done substantially worse their own cars. It was your statement that I quoted in my post, that I took umbrage to. My humblest apologies. It was your astonishing grasp of the English language and V8 mindset, that confused me so much. I thought you must have accidently logged onto MINI2, while searching for www.ifitdontgofasteritaint@#$%!.com. You did say you owned a MINI, didn't you? Does this mean that you think Cooper's "aint @#$%!", because they are not faster then an S. Oh no! Does this mean that an S "aint @#$%!" because it is not faster than a JCW S. Hmm! Interesting theory, maddog. Oh! I forgot to ask, do you have a "If it's too loud, your too old" or a "Get in, sit down, shut up and hang on" sticker on your back window ? As for number 37, I was around then and I reiterate my comment, that if it wasn't for this car and a number of other giant killing MINIs, you would not have the privilege of driving the modern MINI. If BMW wish to market such a vehicle as the MC40, let them. If the buyers' stay away from them in droves, let them. I agree you have the right to make comment on the car, but please do not cheapen this forum with your "If it dont go faster it aint @#$%!" language or perhaps other people may mistakenly think you drive a V8 Torana also. Actually, that's a little unfair. There are some V8 Torana drivers out there that see these vehicles for what they are - a piece of Australian motoring heritage and purchase select examples for their automotive collections. |

Offline | Hi, Lets all be friends again I agree with points both enzo and darth have made. Personally I find it hard to accept a "Rally" version which has only graphic / cosmetic changes. Make it go faster! We should have the option of ordering a stripped out light car with go fast pieces Graphics for cars are very cheap, and easily reproducible. My bet is that we will see copies of the rally version very quickly. I also respect the heritage of the car, and it is important that BMW respect this, and produce special cars that live up to expectations. However, as I have said before, the best thing about the mini is individuality. You rarely see two minis that are EXACTLY the same. There are so many combinations. We should remember the things we share in common (ie most people on this board own or are intending to own a mini, and they dont own a V8 torana )Robbo Mods: GO MADDIE and SPARKY! |

Offline | Well my dear old man, what a boring response. You could of spiced this debate a little, with some constructive critiscism yet you refer to my opinion of this MC40 continually. To set the record straight, I believe that this MC40 'aint !@#$' due to the zero added performance to this car for extra money! If you felt inferior in some way, I did not intend to offend. For future reference, when you are studying you're thesaurus whilst in retirement, and replying to posts, please include these mind-boggling words, 'umbrage' (what are you on about?) in every post. As to my cheapening of this forum, do remember you have not added anything constructive yet only brought the reputation of this forum down with your negative approach to others. In the future, please only comment on what you know, not what you think. For you could wind up in alot of trouble saying the wrong thing to the wrong person! Oh, I also forgot to ask about the stickers on you're car. Do you have either 'Disability permit' or 'Bad Girl' |

Offline | Disability, definitely No offence taken, Enzo - just trying to keep the English language alive and keep all the Hollywood Hip out of our dictionary. I don't want my grand kids talking, as if they just stepped out of the latest Hollywood rap movie. I'll be encouraging them to say mate, not 'Bro'. Anyway, in good Aussie tradition, hope you had bloody good weekend. Deaf Cooper ![]() |
