No, 8 spokes not S spokes. As to the badge NFI but WRONG.
I don't think he knows much I think he thinks he bourght a car, not a MINI
It is 2nd hand, a 2003 model BTW.

I have to agree Daniel, hot orange is yucky IMO.

A lot of people don't realise the MINI is a BMW, and I suppose he wants the ****-points that go with that badge.

Its funny, a guy at work has a five year old base model 3 series and some of the other guys think its absolutely fantastic (because its a BMW), but they think less of a car that is still really a BMW and is better in every way Not that I care, I don't drive the MINI for what other people think, just an interesting observation.

Having driven both a base model one and three series as loan cars when cookie monster has gone in for service, have to say cannot see where the "sheer driving pleasure" is.

Both times I handed the keys back to the dealer, said thanks for the loan car it was very nice but where is my MINI, I wanna go for a real drive. Now THAT is sheer driving pleasure.

Given that a base model one or three series can be about the same coin as a highly spec'd MINI there is no comparision at all. Even the sunroofs in them suck.

I like orange as a colour (like the TNT freight orange), but I just can't like the mini hot orange colour.

BMW try to keep MINI separate, and I for one don't really care if it's a BMW. I bought a MINI

While I've had my car in I've had a 316ti, a 32something, a 318 (with TV!) and a Z4. All of them were very boring cars (although the Z4 looked the part). My dad's always been keen on a 3 series (and loved the Z3/4's), after driving them he agreed with me - they're a very boring and underpowered vehicle. The fours in them are just pathetic! As I said, the Z4 looked the part but didn't have the power/ride to back it up.

I've said it before and will say it again.
I don't understand the cache of owning a BMW anymore. They are well made etc but they are as common as on the roads these days. I love my MINI cause it stands out from the crowd, quite literally, not to mention that it can out perform many of the cars on the road as well.

My mum who as all of you probably know is picking up her MCSa next week. Ordered unseen/undriven; although she has been party to lots of MINI hijinks with me, after driving yesterday was totally blown away. "They look fantastic and go like a scolded cat" was her comment yesterday evening

She is so excited and has taken to MINI spotting with fervor (back on topic).
As Di (my mum) would say "wouldn't give you two bob for a bimmer, especially after driving MY MINI"

I definately bought the MINI cause it was different to everything else, and dad used to be involved with racing them when I was younger (what car hasn't he had )

I can't see myself buying a BMW, they just don't have it.

I disagree when people say the 3 series is a bad car. I've had a bunch of them as loan cars and they are a very VERY good car. Underpowered, yes - but have you driven a 330ci? They go faster than 95% of Cooper S's I know of, and the chassis dynamics and handling are superb. Not go kart like, as in the MINI, but they are pretty tidy in my opinion.

I've never minded having to drive a 3 as a loaner. Not as exciting as a MINI, but I don't think BMW's slogan is unfounded.

Anyway, back on topic - did I see Tit entering Liverpool KK at about 7pm tonight? If he had his ears open he would have heard FLiPSiDE and myself bouncing off our respective rev limiters as we left and tore off up the Cumberland Hwy (I won, of course )

I agree Tim... I actiually brought the MINI based on the BMW name. I have a 2002 BMW coupe and it is a gereat car - even though it is 31 years old, it still brings a smile to my face.

If you get a BMW with something more than a 1.8 litre in it, you might find that it is OK...

I love BMW - just too many fully elite tools driving around in black 318i's with cream interior and 16 rims thinking that their black gucci sunnies and Louis Vuitton Handbags match the trim so well...

Get a nice straight 6... find some fun roads and give it a go... obviously it will be very different to getting around in the mini, but it also makes a nice car for carrying a few more in reasonable style...

I'd much rather a 318i than a Calais or whatever...

Ah!! That was YOU!!

I was busy looking somewhere else and my passenger goes....oh...there's a mini over there....

I looked back and saw your head hanging out the drivers-side window with a look of disgust that I hadn't acknowledged you...

That's the third time I've seen the other mini too late... and couldn't do anything about it...

sorry mate...!

I love going to KK only because there's always crazy cars in there....we passed the most 'phatted-out' rex ever on the way in.....it looked like he was on his way to a round of the JGTC!! Biggest wing you've ever seen on the back of the car!!
