I had a phone call about this as some mates of mine witnessed it... The owner claims he has had never ending problems with the car (5 months old), from DSC issues to Airbag issues (whatever that means) and he claims something failed in his rear suspension as he entered the roundabout. Reckons he was only doing about 50km/h and had his DSC on. That's a VERY large roundabout and in three years of driving my MINI like a madman I've never had ANY lift off oversteer, let alone enough to cause something like that to happen. Apparently the curtain and seat airbags went off on one side of the car too?!
not me... we didn't end up going down due to the forecast. Ended up being dragged homewares shopping for a new place that we wouldn't be moving into for another 1 4 M O N T H S ! ! ! !
Shenanigans indeed. It's hard to believe that you could end up that far into the dirt at a leisurely 50km/h. It's a bloody big gutter so I am not at all surprised to hear that the airbags went off.
I was so surprised to see another MINI2er (me seeing MINI, then looks at plate TUX... then brain clicks, OMG its Magictux!!) that I didn't have time to fully say g'day as we went past, glad you got the wave! and I LOVE the tigers signs in the windows.
The wagon of some sort is the wonderful Renault Scenic - family mobile.
We should catch up sometime when you are in Leichhardt, I recon a couple of cool MINIs parked outside a cool cafe could be the go!
saw a nudie MCS w/ ugly yellow plates last night in the airport parking lot. i've seen nudie MC in syd, perth, and melb, but i was very suprised to see an 'S'.
also i saw the Col Crawford 'let's Mini' car on friday.
That much damage and that much distance in a spin at 50ks is impossible. Im sure the coppers will notice this
Actually.......(me smiles with an evil grin) the guy practically wrote off an S in the bum i.e. no frontal damage....
