Offline | window tinting hi, just a quick question about window tinting. my baby is going in tomorrow morning for a window tint, and i was wondering how anyone else that had a tint done, how they handle the windows not dropping down and then up when the car door opens. the window tint place said for the 24 hourse the windows should not be used. i just want some piece of mind as to not affect the tint. any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Offline | you can't do anything about the windows dropping when the doors open [unless you simply don't touch the car at all! ] so don't worry about that!they'll probably put some tape over your window toggles... resist the temptation to remove it, as otherwise you'll drop the windows without thinking & curse yourself! the only other tip would be to run a soft cloth around the outer edge of the rear & hatch windows 3-4 days after you've had the tint done... any excess water should have evaporated, & the finish around/over all those little black dots will improve 100%... you may need to repeat the process a coupla times over the first fews weeks, but it'll be good thereafter! |

Offline | My tint shop left a small 1/4" untinted strip at the bottom of both windows. It's invisible unless you recline the seat all the way back and look out the window. Sean |

Offline | The way I did it so my windows wont open & close was to Not fully put the window up all the way , fall short. So when you close the door the window wont go up , or down when you open the door ( this helped me not to peel the tints off) |

Offline | mini_bm I had mine done last month, and had the same concerns as you express. I spoke to the tinit installer about it, and they said it would be okay - no problems so far. The tip from gazah is a good one. The tint installer suggested the same for me and it has worked a treat. Good Luck Chris |
