Design a Club Logo Competition: Closed

Anybody can enter!!!
The Clubs use of the MINI logo is dependant on approval from BMW AG (Germany). As we are the first approved MINI Club we have an opportunity to make submissions for logo design. Similar to BMW Clubs around the world, MINI Clubs is only able to use the MINI Logo within an approved format which is a combination of both the Clubs Name and MINI logo (similar to the pic below).

All submissions will be posted to MINI2 and polled. The top three designs voted by MINI2ers will be submitted to BMW for approval.

Each of the top three submissions as voted by MINI2ers (i.e. highest votes) will recieve a A$200 MINI Lifestlye Gift Voucher.

The winning submission, that is the one that is finally approved by BMW AG will receive a A$1500.00 MINI Lifestyle Gift Certificate.

How to enter:
We have set up a section in the Clubs Gallery for you to upload submissions. Finished size of the pic of your submission must be no wider than 500 pixels.

Entries must be submitted by 6pm May 1st 2004. All submissions will be posted to MINI2 on May 2nd and will be polled for 14 days. The top three in the poll will be submitted to BMW for approval. If more than one is approved for Club use, the Clubs Committee will make the final decision. If none are approved by BMW the prize will be shared amongst the final three submissions.

All entries must include:
The Name MINI Clubs and the Official MINI Logo

You can enter as many submissions as you wish.

The Logo competition is open to anybody and not restricted to geographic regions.

Tip:
The Clubs logo is to appear on a range of items including clubs clothing, website, stationery, business cards etc. Your submission needs to be flexible enough to retain image quality regardless of use, small or large. Some uses will include embroidery.

Upload your Design Submissions Here.

Good Luck.

Hmmm. Might have a go at this.

500 pixels wide - is there a height restriction?

will the final design be professionally finished off... or should we aim to create a high-quality version & just upload a jpeg to the gallery?

No height restrictions. The width is so we can post to a vote/poll thread and keep it a uniform width.

The design should finished to final art stage. A jpeg of the design should then be uploaded to the galllery.

Remember the design will be used across a number of applications therefore has to be flexible enough for a clear reproduction big or small, embroided, screen printed, printed as in stationery and hold quality in black and white or colour.

Good luck.

Well as a "professional" I can certainly offer to "tidy up" the winning entry and get it ready for final production. In fact, I'd be happy to offer my services to setup artwork for stationery etc if required.

Oh, is there a place we can get access to some good quality MINI logos for use at this stage? Certainly, when doing the final artwork for the chosen design it would be good if we had a vector based version of the MINI logo.

Thank you for your very kind offer. It will make it much easier for some of our novices to enter an idea and then have it finished to final art standard before submitting to BMW if it is voted into the top three.

'gazah' has provided us with links to tif and jpeg files. We have posted these to post #1 under MINI Logos. These should be fine for presentations on MINI2. We can organise a vector file for final submissions.

Hi,

There is a good high res version of the "mini" logo available for download from the aussie BMW site

Go to www.bmw.com.au and follow the mini links. I can't remember of the top of my head where it is, but it is there. I downloaded it and used it to get some stuff printed

As far as designing logos, there are creative people, and there are the rest of us. I definitely fall into the "rest of us" category Hopefully we have a few good "creative people" on the board

Would be excellent if you also had a go at designing a submission and really appreciate the offer to assist other submissions in the final stages.

Regards

Hmm... I tried again, and clicked submit, but there's no "thinking" happening when I click submit... maybe I'll try another browser, cos I use Opera.

Internet Explorer did the trick.
