Offline | sorry guys, but i forgot to SMS you about my latest run... a quick couple of 'blockies' of tamworth's main street [well a round trip to video ezy in fact!] i should probably post this in the MINI2-spotters thread, but i saw... 4 utes - each with 32 driving lights, a fock-off big bullbar & 16 antennae [1 also had a dead roo strapped to the bullbar] 23 late 80's hatches - all had noisy exhausts, 16 had hood scoops & guages, none actually had a blower installed! ![]() 314 locals hanging out their windows, or sitting on their car bonnets while parked along the main street [waiting for halley's comet i think! ]612 P plates! more polished chrome rims then even trelo could fit into his garage... & too many vintage holden & ford sedans to count! **** as an aside [even more off-topic] there's a little budgie-green hatch that i noticed driving up & down the main street in my first week here... it was lowered to all buggery & the guys seemed pretty damn impressed with themselves... anyways, 2 weeks later i saw the same car with a freshly undercoated front bumper!!!! the grins weren't quite so big that day! |

Offline | Hiya to all those i met out on the old road the other day! I was well shocked to see anyone else out there at that time of night! I was also pretty shocked to see that bus in the middle of the apex of the fast sweeper towards the end Mini goes in for service monday and i think its just as well coz i think i hear metal on metal from the brake pads. Any suggestions for slotted rotors ? . . . lucky |

Offline | Is there anything better in this world than 'Doing a Peely'?? A few years back i was up there visiting the inlaws in a '94 lancer coupe ... it had to be close to the most modern car (without a bull bar) in the whole town.. in saying that, there was a plethora of little Suzuki Swifts with exausts that looked like they were cut from storm water drain and plenty with letter box hood onaments - they must have gone F-A-S-T The upshot is next time i have to 'do a Peely' ill be in my new Mini ! On the Ford/Holdens in the area... My Father in law has an old XB Falcon (351 of course) sitting in a garage out there (as it has been since the '70s). Mint condition and not many miles on the clock. Unfortunately the boss doesnt understand the Australian muscle car thing, so it remains in Tamworth... for now ! ![]() |

Offline | & don't forge the guy's linked gallery... HERE! wasn't sure anybody'd know what a 'peely' was... so i used the less-correct 'blocky' ! ![]() the MCS gets a variety of reactions up here... the usual excited smiling children & interested middle-age men a number of energetic [& often vocal] mini supporters the afore-mentioned plethora of hot hatches that [i regret] are usually far from sociable & the Peel St hanger-outerers that give you the evil eye as you drive past god i'd love to line the main street of tamworth with MINI2ers on a saturday night! ![]() |
