Your coolest MINI story...

I have a story to tell...

If you have one similar add it here! Just as we ahve a show us your best photo thread, its time for a best story thread!

The other day I was driving to Torquay on the south west coast of Victoria.

I was doing my Mini thing, when two guys went flying past in a brand new black SL500.

I saw it and went "pretty cool"

Anyway, they were stopped at the next set of traffic lights and I pulled up right at the front of the cycle, along side them. They looked across and turned their noses up to me. I laughed to myself (and thought, by the time I was there age, I would hope to have at least enough money to buy an AMG SL55!) and looked back up the road.

It was school break up time and all these kids went past on a bus. I looked up, almost all of the kids on my side of the bus were gawking or hanging out the window waving and giving me thumbs up and the kids on the other side were racing to have a look!!

I looked over to the guys in the Mercedes Benz, I smiled and waved - they had seen it all and the guy who was driving looked really ******ed off!! The kids had completely ignored the grey headed men crusing in the $280K plus Merc and gone crazy for the MINI!!

For one 8th of the cost, I won!! The Mini is a really cool car, loved by the masses and me!!

Poeple are constantly stopping to have a chat to me when I'm getting in and out of it, I sit at cafe's etc and watch people walk up and peer into the windows...

It is quite odd how people are so moved by them (me included though)!!

I Look forward to hearing your stories!!!

Todd

Hi,

I've had many great mini moments!

One of my favourites involved a classic mini. We were driving along, with a a classic red mini with p plates coming the other way. There were 4 teenagers in it. As we passed they all were hanging out the windows waving and cheering

Oh, and by the way, if you think the guy in the merc looked ed, you should see the look on the faces of guys with ferraris / porsches and lambos when you overtake them on the racetrack

I often go to track days with supercars. Many of these guys haven't driven on the track before, so it is possible to take then down in the mini

It is a humbling moment when these guys realise that buying a $400,000 car doesn't make you a quick driver Back to driver training school

As the ads say,
Ferrari 360 $400,000
Helmet and drivers suit $1000
Look on face when being overtaken by a mini, priceless

There are also some really great drivers on these days. There is nothing like seeing a GT3, 360 or murcielago being hammered around the track by someone who can really steer

Attached is a pic of a ferrari driver succumbing to the inevitble, and waving Maddie past!

Cheers

Robbo

Scotty!!

You wait, it'll get much much better!! When your behind the wheel of your car, cruising and people just whip their head around to see you...

You get such a kick out of it!!

You watch people look as you drive by, their heads follow you all the way down the street! Not once in a blue moon, but all the time, a few times a day...

No car makes people feel good like a new mini does!!

Just wait til you get yours!!

Todd

My favourite Mini story is from a while ago October 2002 to be precise haha.. as u may or may not know im a massive Ferrari fan.. anyways driving home one night I spotted 360 tail lights a fair while ahead of me on the city west link so i gunned it to catch up and pulled along side to admire the Ferrari and noticed the passenger (a babe.. schwiiing) was checkin out my Mini and smiling from ear to ear... it was then i realised i had my Ferrari pit crew shirt on and held up the Ferrari emblem on the shirt and gave the driver the thumbs up. He laughed, shifted back and gunned it

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

oh that delightful Ferrari noise.... it made my day anyways

nah but normally ferrari drivers are douche bags, ignore u or wont give them more than a breath on the throttle

so the mini impressed his girl

got a smile outa him and inspired him to give it the stick just for my entertainment

so in any other car im sure i woulda been ignored
