Well, my MINI arrived in Melbourne today, so I went down the docks and took some pics

The first one is the ship in the bay at Lunchtime, in the anchorage before it docks.

The second picture is the ship at the dock after work. Once I saw it there, I thought I might go for a walk and see how close I could get

I got round very close, and saw a few cars coming off so I thought I'd wait and see if any MINI's came off. Eventually I saw a set of Xenons coming off the boat, with familiar looking foglights below... It was the only BRG/W one coming off as well, so that'd be my car! (last 2 pics)

Wow how very cool! Almost looks like a bird set free after being caged... Wish I could have done that Friday when my car came off the boat... but NY/NY dock security is no joke anymore..

Lucky guy to see such a site.. I bet few MINI owners have.

Scotty: They weren't exactly hanging around..... but that's OK, helps the rings bed properly IMO!!

DJP: Not sure when I get it yet, probably next week is my thoughts at the moment, the sooner the better though

How long does it take normally in your experience?

you wouldn't want to climb the fence at this place.... major electricity going on, looks like the fence in Jurassic Park!

Some great shots there !!!

Good to know I'm not the only idiot who waited in hiding to take some shots of their car as it was being delivered

Never managed to get a shot the car being driven but a couple of good close ups sitting behind the customs fence

It is hard though

You've seen the car now but you don't get the keys for at least another week ot two ... hang in there, it's worth the wait

That is very keen, but great to see your car. However, it will only make the wait worse

Unfortunately I didn't get to follow both my Minis. And I didn't have to wait either !.

The minute you sit in that seat you just think why didn't I buy one of these earlier !

Got 2 quotes for my broken spot .

$235 - just for the glass ( thats what they told me )--- BMW Sydney parts
$270 - for the complete unit --- Trivett classic parts

I am really confused here

. For an extra $35 , i can get the whole thing.
