Offline | Balmain/Rozelle MINI owners and guests get together Hi, As was discussed in the MINI spotting thread we think that it might be fun to get all the local MINI owners together for a cleansing ale in one of the many Balmain/Rozelle establishments. Of course anyone that is not a local of the area is more than welcome to join us, but of course the "SHOUT THE RESIDENTS/LOCALS" rule applies Chosing the best watering hole is not easy, but just in case some people want to drive to show off their cars or need to drive I thought the Royal Oak in Curtis Road Balmain might be a good starting point.I would like to ensure we pick a date that works for everyone so I will propose a couple and depending on your responses we can pick the one that suits most people. I was thinking either Sat 22nd or Sun 23rd May in the afternoon - maybe 4.00pm so there is still daylight for us to ogle all the beautiful MINI's. Please let me know your thoughts and availability and I look forward to meeting all MINI owners on the day - of course that gives us no excuse then not to wave/flash at each other. But in Balmain/Rozelle I have to admit we are all very good at it anyway!! ![]() |

Offline | I've got to say Balmain is a good place for a cleansing ale. Have been known to have the occasional drop at The London. Frequently stop at Balmain/Rozelle for a coffee during the week and all the minis in the area play hidings because I dont think I have seen one there. |

Offline | Sounds like a great idea . I was in half a daze on saturday when you flashed me at the round a bout , but did see you & Stella. Looked like you were in a bit of a hurry. Let me have a little think about which pub to go to . The Oaks is a good spot , but can be a pain for parking. As for dates - the ones mentioned sound ok . I think i may HAVE to do a bit of a recce around the pubs over the next few days to see which one / ones might be ok. I know thats a big effort but i dont mind ! ERIN |

Offline | It was great to see you on the road - I was in a little of a hurry - but in my MINI I like to give it a blast whenever I can - I was late to help set up a BBQ for a friend You mave mentioned "'The Oaks" in your message, but I actually meant "The Royal Oak" in Curtis Road as parking is usually pretty good. Sorry to MAKE you do a race around the pubs - that is a HUGE effort and I am glad you don't mind I'll keep my eyes out to see how many people we get that are interested. Talk soon and glad you saw me STELLA zoomed past! Lisa ![]() |

Offline | I was doing a bit of recce work last night (FRIDAY) for our drinks arvo ( OK I WAS JUST OUT FOR A BEER WITH FRIENDS , BUT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD REASON ) at the LONDON HOTEL in BALMAIN & had to park behind a BRG/W "S" in Rose ST . It was a nice looking car with a Goodwood Festival of Speed sticker on the back window. Q: Who owns this car & Q: Were they also out tring to help me with some recce work ? |

Offline | Hi, Well, the response hasn't been all I was hoping for so I am thinking this, lets delay it by a week and see if the ones that are up for it, can chat to some of the other MINI owners they know and get them to come to our beautiful community for a cleansing ale. So, plan is LONDON HOTEL, Saturday 29th May @ 4.00pm onwards. If anyone wants to bring friends to admire the MINI's please bring them and lets just have a nice afternoon. THIS IS A DEFINITE. Ciao Lisa ![]() |

Offline | Barring unforeseen circumstances ... count me (and the other half) in ... would be good to have a more relaxed 'meeting' for a change and a good opportunity to meet a few more MINI drivers ![]() |
