All British Race Day @ Wakefield Park - Great Day !!!

On June 27th the All British Race Day will be held at the Wakefield Park circuit for a day of classic motor racing, featuring the original Minis. The day offers a range of race events with a wide collection of classic British manufacturers racing classics such as MG's and Jaguar. Brad, on behalf of MINI Clubs, is currently negotiating a demonstration race featuring some of the new MINI COOPER S models to add to the day of activities.

Also on offer for those who want to show off their new MINI’s is a show and shine section. MINI Clubs will be allocated a position in the event so that members can present their cars in a group showing. Show and Shine Awards will be given out on the day in a number of different categories. Competition is going to be tough as a number of other Classic British Car Clubs will be showing off their pride’n’joys on the day.

The event organizer has also offered our members who arrive in their new MINI’s free entry to the event on the day. Only your passengers will be required to pay the entrance fee. Prices TBA.

Wakefield Park is a motor racing circuit located 10 km south of Goulburn in New South Wales on the Braidwood Road, approximately 2 hours drive from Sydney and less than 1 hour from Canberra. I’m proposing that the ACT and NSW chapters of the club meet at a location outside of Goulburn then convoy through the town centre then onto the event.

The club will be planning to bring its own BBQ and marquee on the day so we can all enjoy a great day of racing and have a good catch up with other club members.

As Mark has indicated we have organised a '6 lap MINI Expression Session' for all those owners interested in tracking their MINI's on the day. Like some of our recent track days the MINI's will be started in 10 - 15 second intervals unlike the actual race events on the day. This will effectively be a demonstration event to show off the new MINI's

Please indicate if you would like to participate in the 'Expression Session' and I will start a list in ths post. To come along and particiapte in the day's other activities reply to Mark.

This sounds cool - what else is going to be there? Seeing as the MINIs are only out for 6 laps?

Just the MG's, Jags and old minis? Or will there be classics/supercars etc?

At this stage count me in for the Expression and other events, need any help with a BBQ , at last count I owned at least 8!! don't ask , its one of the things that comes with running 4WD tours all over OZ

This 'expression event' is going to have two DS MCS weaving erratically at the back at the field at this rate
