Hi,

For anyone who may be interested, the NSW BMW club is organising a motorkhana on Sunday the 20th of June.

The motorkhana is run on a large flat concrete area. Courses are set-up using witches hats. These courses vary, but may involve slaloms, 90 and 180 degree turns around cones, parking in forwards and reverse in designated cone "garages" etc. The events are timed. Generally the courses are small, so they are low speed, probably reaching 70-80km maximum.

The cost of the day is $50 including a BBQ lunch. However, you are also required to be a member of the BMW club (around $150 I think).

No modifications are required to the car, and you don't need a helmet, fire-extinguisher, cams license etc.

There are now quite a few minis competing regularily in the BMW events, so we might get quite a few there. From the mini2 boards myself, Boo, Trelo and Green Devil are regulars. Kerry from Peak Performance, and Carmel from the BMW club also compete in minis.

I have been to 3 of the BMW Motorsport events and they are relaxed, friendly and professional. If you go to one event you will be back for more!! Fees associated with these events are modest compared to other organised motorsport events out there.
