| targa tassie early bird While we are on the track of up and coming motor sport its probably a good tie to remind that early bird rego for Targa Tassie closes on 31st July. Now I know a lot of you read this and think this is not for me, but what is not widely known is that events like these have a competitive and tour category. Yes full comp have all the crazy race gear, but the tour category can be done with a standard car, no special mods required. The idea is that it lets tour competitors drive the course (with no timing), be part of the race fleet and drive some of the best roads in the world from both sides!! Best thing is that it ties in with Tasminia 2005 which starts a few days after, so you can race for a week and then spend the next 10 days relaxing ![]() Have a look at http://www.targa.org.au/downloads/20...ation_form.pdf for early bird entries. Would be great to have a stong represenation for mini owners next year |

Wakefield this Friday - 25th June Boys n Girls, I'm popping along to Wakefield park (www.wakefieldpark.com.au) this coming friday and considering taking MINNY around for her maiden-blip. I've tried searching the Forum to no avail, but was wondering if anyone had an idea on a "decent" laptime for a standard MCS at Wakefield? Is there a Mini2 Australia laptimes chart for the various tracks around Sydney. ? Al. |

| Hey mate, good to see you back on board! Skilled pilots in modified S's get around Wakefield as quick as 1:13 but I'd suspect a standard car with a weekend warrior like myself behind the wheel would be more like 1:20 to begin with? robbo mcs is probably a good person to comment on this ![]() Cheers, Tim |

| A small database of tracks / times / driver / modifications inc. tyres could be good. Times recorded with the BMW Club are very accurate due to the use of transponders. However, times recorded by a 2nd (MINI2) person with a modern stopwatch should be valid as a qualification too. BMW E36 M3R Alpine White - Engine : 6 cylinder; DOHC 24 valve Capacity : 2990cc Power : 243KW @ 7000 rpm Torque : 323NM @ 3900rpm Produced : Jan - May 1995 How many :15 ONLY |
