Offline | Thats not a bad idea. Would be a good guide for various tracks as well as allowing people to keep track of their best times |

Offline | A small database of tracks / times / driver / modifications inc. tyres could be good. Times recorded with the BMW Club are very accurate due to the use of transponders. However, times recorded by a 2nd (MINI2) person with a modern stopwatch should be valid as a qualification too. Offline | Hi, For the record, here are my best times, with all my mods Wakefield : 1:13.54 Eastern Creek : 1.56.25 ... today Oran Park GP : 1:27.69 (this one is a bit soft, it has been wet both days I've been there) My best time before mods, completely stock except R tyres were Wakefield : 1.16.7 Eastern Creek : 2.01 I have never done trackdays with runflats, however, based upon experience of others, a good time would be Wakefield 1.19's Eastern Creek 2.04 (S4matt did this at the Dutton Rally )However, I would encourage people to ignore other peoples lap times. The main thing is to have fun, learn, and hopefully improve on your own times . Get lots of driver training and try to improve your own skills. Cheers Robbo Mods: GO MADDIE and SPARKY! |

Offline | I agree its pretty pointless comparing yourself with other peoples lap times as there are lots of variables (car, driver, weather, etc). But at the same time its nice to have goals and an idea of what can be achieved . It also serves a quite nice reference to look back over. |

| C'mon you Spurs! | well I'm pleased to say that I did "very well" on friday. My unofficial best time was 1.19.4 (a friend was timing me from the pitwall). Which I'm well chuffed about - I was consistently in the 1.20s after my 2nd run. Oh yeah - and I was running a Stock MCS with the runflats!! Although I can see how easy it is to get into the "racing" bug...I'll definitely need a set of 16s for racing in with some "cheaper" tyres if this going to become a more regular thing. Anyone fancy sharing a set???? |

Offline | Hi, Congratulations, that is a seriously fast time for a stock standard car on stock tyres You obviously have some innate talent I am very impressed That time would be very close to winning "B" class at BMW club events, which is the class that the stock cooper S goes in. Glad you enjoyed yourself. However, as you have found out, it is kind of addictive By the way, if you are interested, there is a BMW drive day at Wakefield on Saturday 17th July. If you are interested, PM me Cheers Robbo Mods: GO MADDIE and SPARKY! |

Offline | Hi, Seeing as everyone else is posting information for the database, here is my info Track experience * First time on the track March 02 * BMW driver training days : "M owners", "perfection" and "fascination". Excellent driver training. Gave me the courage to take my own car on the track * Burrows Drive Days : I think I have done around 15 * BMW club days : around 10 * Motoconcepts : 2 days Circuits done * Wakefield : good fun. Technically challending, quite safe. Lots of off-camber corners * Oran Park GP : I have only done this twice. Technically hard and challenging, Big walls and ripple strips * Oran park South Circuit : A good introduction to the track. Lots of left hand turns, with camber and elevation changes. I have only done it once * Eastern Creek : love it Fast, flowing, every type of corner, eg fast sweepers, hairpins, on and off camber etc. * Winton : strange track. Lots of tight corners. Lots of short straights. Suits minis * Phillip island : I did this in M3, not the mini. By far the best track I have been on. Technically it is amazing, very high speed, lots of sweepers, and high speed corners. Technically challenging, elevation and camber changes, blind apexes etc. Great scenery as well. Do it once in your life Robbo Mods: GO MADDIE and SPARKY! |

Offline | Al, Be good if you came along to Wakefield on the 17th. At the moment I seem to be the only MCS competing regularly in the B class and I am doing 1:19 so a good match up. | C'mon you Spurs! | Robbo - now you know telling me that I could "go close" in class B is only going to mean I have to come along - seriously though I probably do need to sort some race tyres out before I come out again....I seriously scrubbed about $100 off of each RunFlat last friday. I don't fancy coughing up 2k for a set of four runflats in the next few months. R U coming on Sunday to Bowral? be good to have a natter.... |
