Looks like those E30 M3's can really give its younger siblings a run for the money. Since they appreciates in value, maybe that's a wise investment .

I am gonna go. There will be a min. of 3-4 other MINIs there for sure. It is actually getting quite difficult to get on that circuit now. There is an ARDC day this Friday for about $100. Beyond that there are the Burrows Drive Days, however, at $400 for a spot they are a little on the pricey side in my view. EC is a nice, long and fast circuit and I am somewhat annoyed that due to a recent EC tendering process it has become monopolised to an extent ... which means controlled pricing

Oh yeah, and before someone bangs on about safety standards - Motorsport IS dangerous and if operators can provide the required Insurance and CAMS requirements for marshalling, they should be able to hire the track.

End of rant.

Hi Bob,

I'm going on the 22nd, and I'm pretty sure Stu is as well. There are also a couple of other minis that have been going regularily.

I'm also planning to go to the Burrows day on the 8th June

Just as a "heads-up", you can go to an Oran Park practice day for $100. Goto www.oranpark.com or call (02) 4646 1004 as they usually have 1 or 2 days per week.

This is awesome. I went a few weeks back. Rollup at about 9am and pay at the clerks office and off you go. When I went there was only 3 cars all day. I used 65 litres of fuel by 1.30pm (which is alot of driving) changed my wheels and was home by 3pm for a shower and a coldie.

The Oran Park GP circuit provides a good workout and in some respects is a little more demanding than EC. If you want to experiment unmolested using different gears and braking points for corners, I suggest this is the ideal environment.

However, I am looking forward to EC for the BMW Supersprint rnd 3 this Sunday on the 22nd.

Thanks Greendevil, I have done a few of those practice days at Wakefield in the past (pre-MINI), I didn't know they ran them at Oran Park. I have driven Oran Park a few times, most notably in a formula ford and I agree it would be a great track for the MINI.

I'll see how I go at EC and how much it costs in terms of tyres and brakes etc before I get too carried away with the track

I'm also going to the BMW supersprint at Eastern Creek this Sunday, so I look forward to catching up with you Carl I believe there are a few minis entered, and also there are some clubmini people turning up to do some flag duties

Carl, I thought the Oran Park open days were only for log-booked cars??? They must have changed.

I cant find any information regarding dates etc on the Oran Park website. Has to go down in history as one of the biggest wastes of web space
