CCS,
I can tell the troops I am having Monday off (they are getting used to my increasing needs for a track fix) to be at Wakefield on the 23rd. I'll drive down early to be there by around 8.30.

Unfortunately I will probably be on OEM pads as I have blown away the last of the Galfer pads at Eastern Creek 2 weeks ago and am waiting on word on some Aussie equivalents which are of some kevlar compound. Nonetheless, I will turn up and bring my slicks with me ...

This is my 1st year of trackin' and I try to get onto the track at least once a month whilst slowly improving the car at the same time. My theme for this year is "practice and improve" so even if I get some brake fade I'll just ease up a bit and gradually build up again. All track time is GOOD time regardless!!

Look forward to seeing another Mini and the Lotus next Monday

Hey have you looked at Pagid Blue??? I used them alot in my rallying days... yes they produce a alot of dust but they work to a level i can not explain If you have a good set of discs (EG NOT EBC) then Pagid blues are awesome.

Do you have any contact details to source the Pagid Blues? Are you using them currently on your Mini? I have 1/2 decent slotted DBC rotors. The combination of those and the Galfer pads is excellent. Galfers are $350-400 for a front set so am looking for a less expensive equavilent .. OEM are $135 but not up to any type of intensity unfortunately I know your mods are listed somewhere, from memory it is mainly on the chasis side?

Im not running Pagids yet as I bought a stockpile of EBC Greens and now Reds. have not tried the reds out yet... so it will be a good test on Monday. Last time at the track the pad material delaminated from the backing plate... so thats when i went to Reds. gives me another 200 deg c to play with. Ummmm Pagids

otherwise you might try Neil Bates Motorsport or come to think of it all the V8 Super car teams use these pads... in varying compounds.. so shop around.. $350 to $400 is the price for the RSA-4 compound which is the Blue

M8, I just love driving the car. A track day gives me something to look forward to, it really does. I enjoy both the personal and the calculated car improvements as an evolutionary process. The Mini mods will cease long before the personal ones though ...

Hope to see you at the track soon - this time with NO snow

Looks from the FORECAST that its going to be a still COLD morning with a top of about 15 deg C with little or no wind! Off the track maybe a bit slippery from Rain on late Sat or Early Sunday... but thats only a problem if you get of the Black Strip!

Strut Top arrived yesterday fitting it on Sat morning so YES im going on monday... Wooohoooo

Gr8!!

Looks like I will have the Galfer pads in for Monday's drive too. I have a stopwatch which I can bring as well. I should be able to do a little better than 1.31 this time round based on the forecast ...

Ahh a 1.31 in snow is damm good anyway.. Not that you will be likely to get a chance to try that again... it was a unique day for those who got up there
