Offline | The warranty in Australia is pathetic - 2 years, 60,000km. If Hyundai trusts their product enough to offer 5 years unlimited kilometres warranty, why not BMW? Oh that's right, the final stage of their product engineering is done by the customer! You can however buy an additional years warranty (total 3 years unlimited) either as an option with an additional years road side assistance (aprox $600) or as part of a package that includes free servicing to 60,000KM (I think) for about $1200. |

Offline | I didnt know that? So if you have heaps of trouble with your car, and the 2 years is coming up, you can just buy the extra year? - Global Moderator - MY BLOG - Global Procrastinator - ![]() ... Buying the 8C for its dynamic abilities is like buying a porn film for its plot ... |

| MINI Traitor | That is indeed the question we are asking ourselves at the moment. To be more correct, i beleive you get one months grace, so you have to make the decision within 25 months. ![]() Mini has a thing where if you do the right thing by them, they will look after you. It is more than likely that if you had a engine die at 3.5 yo, they would either do the lot, or help you out substantially with it ![]() Clubman less.... ![]() |

Offline | 3.5 years old? So is that only if you got the three years warranty? Oh well, this all sounds good anyway ![]() - Global Moderator - MY BLOG - Global Procrastinator - ![]() ... Buying the 8C for its dynamic abilities is like buying a porn film for its plot ... |

| MINI Traitor | It is an unwritten thing. There are no hard a fast rules. Basically, MINI are saying, we'll look after our customers who do right by us. They might give you a new engine at 4.5 years. They might tell you to go away at 2.1 years depending on things. Some of the things they look at are...1. Are you the first owner of the car? 2. Have you got it serviced by MINI all the way? 3. Is this the dealer you bought the car from? 4. Does the customer know the secret handshake... ![]() Clubman less.... ![]() |

Offline | in the three occaisons that my car broke down and had to be towed back to the dealer there were no loan cars available All were 'pre-booked' for cars in service. which begs the question, whats the point of offering loan cars for breakdowns if they have to be pre-booked!!! |

Offline | this has turned into a 'post your best rattle story!' thread! ![]() well, i asked them to look into my squeaky glovebox & they ended up replacing the boot lock to fix a rattle they found back there... but the glovebox still squeaks! ![]() nothing better than a run up to the hunter vineyards to bring out your rattles... watch the stories pile in after today! |

| MINI Traitor | Haha, you reckon you have a bad dash rattle, listen to my dash rattle . They had the car for a week last time and had a go at fixing it. It's not fixed, but it is much better ![]() Finally I realised another good point to not having a glovebox - no rattles from it ![]() Clubman less.... ![]() |
