Just in case some of you haven't looked in the Dutton Rally Thread, i have started this one to give you some links to some video we have produced from our in car camera.

Awesome stuff Boo!!!

Some very nice transition between corners on different sections of road ... need about 2 external cameras to cover the car from different angles and you'd be looking at a nice little production

The footage came out really well, I'm impressed. What caused the audio to be so poor though?

I couldn't find the battery that links in to the mic so i made a makeshift adapter that ran off the cigarette lighter. Unfotunately it created a lot of static noise maybe due to too much voltage. I am going to try some other mic setups to see if i can get it right before the next Burrows Drive Day...
The problem is that it has to be powered to get the sound back to the camcorder...

If anyone has some ideas let me know

I can't get enough of MINI videos. I was actually going through a heap which I've downloaded over the last 18 months and was thinking the next time we have a dinner we should compile a MINI movie for the after dinner entertainment.

So does it sound bad when you just use the mic built into the video camera?

No, only when i use the mic powered through the cigarette lighter. It is similar to when your car radio produces lots of static because it is not grounded properly.

Boo.. what a great vid.. what program did you use to produce? I live for MINI videos.. I just secured a Canon GL-1 and can't wait to start producing..

I used Adobe Premiere with a Canopus Raptor Capture card (although this is a luxury so i can edit in realtime)...

Great Vid Boo,

You'll have to show us how you fix the video camera in the MINI. I've tried a couple positions on a tripod using occys to secure it however can't seem to get the right shot through the front screen. Its either all road with no hint we are in a MINI or too much interior.

Camera is a seperate Sony pick-up cables back to a camcorder in the glovebox. Had it taped to the sun visor on the passenger side of the car. Will get some external footage on the 23rd at the burrows drive day
