Please note that there is a meeting on Wed 16th June at 7:30pm at “The Whitehorse Inn”, 5 Burwood Rd, Hawthorn. Please proceed to the Bistro, the large room nearest the Bottle Shop Drive thru

The meeting is to discuss club matters, especially MINIClubs and to seek nominations for a committee to be formed.

By the end of next week MINIClubs will be a reality with BMW/MINI backing and we might as well be ready to hit the ground running. The club is to be run along the lines of the BMW Car Club associations.

Voting and Nominations can only be considered from current financial members of MINIClubs or their proxy. If you cannot attend, but want to nominate yourself or someone else, or vote for yourself or someone else, then please contact any financial member who is attending. I expect that there will be a number of committee positions vacant after the meeting. If you are a member of MINIClubs, then please ensure that you exercise your voting rights.

All positions are declared vacant at the start of the meeting, so now is your chance to nominate for head honcho. Even if you are not a member of MINIClubs please feel free to attend to hear what is going on.

This is a great opportunity to participate in the club. Even though it is part of a national association we set our own agenda for events and outings and the dreaded committee meeting. If you have some favourite roads, destinations or activities or just some ideas then please bring these along and they will be put to the social subcommittee.

Please note – this thread is not to be used to debate the various merits of a certain club or club style - that has already been done. This night is to kick off a club that a number of us have already paid our membership fee to join.

Just to let you all know we have secured the only Melbourne appearance

of cityclinic (Brad) on his tour down under (Hawthorn).

A number of us (including Brad and our special guest) will be having dinner there at 6:30pm before the meeting which starts at 7:30pm.

Everyone is welcome to join us for a meal or a drink at that time to talk to Brad and our special MINI Aus guest, but we'll hold off club discussions until 7:30pm when everyone else will be attending.

Until the meeting starts Brad can tell us about TasMINIa 2004 and 2005, and some of those great mods he's had done to his car.

This is a positive meeting where we will learn about the club and its operations, how BMW fits in, and a chance to elect our committee so that things can get under way.

I hope that we have a great turnout.

The meeting went well!! Alot of things were clarified sorted, we can now plug away and form a good club with good people who want to drive, be social and have great mini experiences!!
