Got mine today. Havn't had chance to fit them yet - gotta get my into gear and get the driving light bulbs replaced now!

I take it they are the same as any other "special" globe - you shouldn't touch them with your fingers (due to oil etc?)??

2bob - I did it!! Very simple - lift the bonnet, at the top of your bumper there is a hole above the indicators. look in - there is a light grey cluster with like 2 flat bits protruding horizontally. Put your hand in and twist them anti-clockwise - you will hear a reasonable click noise - this is when the unit is free. Pull the unit out and change globes.

Dont touch the globes with your hands - as the oil on your skin will make them blow quicker. (apparantly - anybody have an explanation?)

Replace the unit and have a bit of a flash!!

Thanks for the offer Kev, just needed the daylight to work it out....

Todd,

If my recollection is correct... when you buy a set of Phillips Blue Vision Globes for the headlights ($59RRP) I think you also get a set of Blue Vision Parkers which should match the indicators. for colour effect.

Again... let me clarify.. I think... not 100% Sure

Watch this space ... although seeing as parker are prolly quite comfortably under $20 it may not be worth the hassle.

Just installed mine - they're a much more "burnt" colour than the other indicators (side, back) - but looks a lot better than the "Fryed Egg"

don't know how much of an effect skin oils would have on the indicators, but certainly with the headlight globes (much hotter) the oil makes hot spots on the glass which causes it to fail.

as for the parkers, I got some Narva Arctic Blue parkers the other day.... took 'em out again 5 minutes later, they looked C R A P when they were turned off, you could see the blue in there.
I've ordered some white LED parkers from a site in the UK:
http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501led.htm

when they arrive I'll let you know how they go.
(and yes, if I'd been a bit more organized and not in so much of a hurry I would have asked if anyone else wanted some.... shipping's free though)

Hey Micky, there's a guy in Sydney named Malcolm who supplies LED replacements, talk to Jan Small from VMCI - I've lost his business card.

He said that with the side markers you will need to replace the indicator flash unit as the LEDs don't provide enough resistance (anyone detect that I'm out of my depth here?) and will make the indicators flash at a different rate. I would have thought that a simple jumped resistor on each globe would solve that. I'm expecting that this information and perhaps replacement unit would be provided/offered by your supplier.

Now that BMWs are being shipped with LED stoplights, maybe they also have LED indicators etc?
