| Boy who made the wolf cry | Hahaha, just a presentation from the BMW 2002 run we organised on March 13th... 18 cars, 40 odd people... to celebrate 40 years of the 02 shape. Todd PROJECT POLARIS - Die Wiedergeburt eines kultautos |

Offline | Hi Todd, Speaking of 40 years of the 02, it reminds me that you asked me to sus out the track for the BMW "I like the way you move" TV ad. It has all been filmed at Eastern Creek. I can recognise every corner, although the angles on some of them are interesting. In particular there is shot of turn 9 that would have required either a helicopter or a big crane In most of the ad they have done a great job of replacing the unnatractive EC background with great European looking shots of distant mountains etc However, it is sloppy in places. On one shot they left in one of the big power pylons. Also, you can also see the pits and stands on the main straight on several shotsIt is a great ad IMHO and not just because I like racing and BMW's Cheers Robbo Mods: GO MADDIE and SPARKY! |

| Boy who made the wolf cry | Thanks for the links... my car was supposed to be inthe advert, but the guy never got back to me... I am still trying to get a copy of the advert as I love it! Great to see they recognise the 2002 as where it all started... I picked upa book the other day of Industrial Design and under BMW there was a write up on the 2002... just a bit of history of the car that changed the way we travel today... I am expecting my car back by April 22nd - any later and heads will roll! Todd PROJECT POLARIS - Die Wiedergeburt eines kultautos |

Offline | Hi Kev, sorry for late response, moving house. Went reasonable well, consistantly in the 58's, cooler day, overcast, drizzle, not ideal for fast lap times. Mini ran well till I the exhaust interconnect gasket gave up on the third session, so a little disappointing. Top speed was just over 200km/h. This Saturday/Sunday at the island again with PIARC on two wheels.... |

Offline | Hi, I'm planning to come down to Winton for the BMWCCV event on the weekend 8-9 July. The Saturday is a driver training day. Unfortunately I won't be able to participate on Saturday, as I can't get the time off work on the Friday to drive down The Sunday is a supersprint, and I'll be competing Is there anyone else planning to go?? I went to this event 2 years ago, and it was a great event Cheers Robbo Mods: GO MADDIE and SPARKY! |

Offline | Would have done it if not for the cost - $1000 is a *LOT* of track time anywhere else, and they also won't promise that you won't get an auto or a cooper. When I did the level 1 it was a balls up, they had auto cooper, auto cooper S, manual cooper S, and rally prepped S that was in the Dutton rally. To be honest I don't think I'd want to do it if I wasn't promised a JCW, as its silly doing it in a car that is a step lower (even though I'm putting out more than a JCW, its the closest they've got). |

Offline | Hi, Awesome I know that Stu Jones is also planning to come down from NSW (provided his engine gets fixed in time). I'm not sure about the other NSW mini trackers, Ged, Carmel etc. It should be a good weekend Cheers Robbo Mods: GO MADDIE and SPARKY! |
