While on our recent MINI sojourn to the snow, I mentioned that the Queenslander's were planning an overnight run to Byron Bay in February 2005.
A have had numerous emails from Pirates and Vikings, asking if they could come along too. The response has always been - of course.
I have now got requests for confirmed dates, so that some Pirates and Vikings could arrange annual leave around this run, and come up for longer .
So here is the open invitation.
Any MINI pilots who are interested in joining us in Byron Bay on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of February 2005, are most welcome.
Accommodation will be on a book yourself basis.
To this end, I have added the following link to accomodation within the area:

I will be talking to the regional tourism office, so that I can give you an idea of what places may have room for groups. With 25 or so Queensland MINIs, I am hoping we can find somewhere large enough, to house interested Pirates and Vikings as well.
There are some fantastic mountain roads in the area, as many Brisbane MINI pilots will attest to, after our run to Byron earlier this year.
I am sure, after the way the Canberra, Sydney and Central Coast MINI pilots looked after us on our way to and from the snow, that if you decide to take a longer break and venture north of the border, you will be looked after in the same way.
In fact, if any MINI pilots wanted to come to Brisbane first and drive down to Byron Bay with us, I will guarantee, you will end up in Byron with a smile a mile wide and in need of a good rest.
I will also be trying to find a place big enough to hold a dinner for all who attend.
So, if you are interested, post or PM me, and we can get the ball rolling.
To all MINI pilots in other, more distant, areas of our nation, hopefully, we can join you some day for a run in your part of the world. However, if you feel like driving from Perth to Byron, we'll find room for you
Cheers
Ken
