Thats the number of Mini Coopers sold Year to date in Australia. That's a lot of Mini's

talk to your local dealer and they say they cant keep with demand and loose customers because of that fact. STUPID!!!

I'll second that - the more of them gets on the road, the less it's gonna be and then it's the time I'll jump ship.
Mini isn't all that rare anymore...especially after I've paid for mine
but luckily my colour is rare so that makes it up for it

think about how large the aussie market is, compared to markets like the UK and USA...

In a year of record motor vehicle sales in Australia, MINI is down 12.6% on last years YTD numbers; from 1069 to 934.

FCAI for details. Maybe the release of the 2005 model and the Cabrio may get the numbers back on track.

I see that many mini's on the drive to work here..... but people still stare, point and smile. So i wouldn't worry about the 'exclucivity' aspect.

You're right, edited it to show Year To August '04. It's even worse .. down 12.6% on the same period as last year.

Interesting report on MINI Sales in the US;
MINI USA reported strong September sales, marking the first month the MINI convertible went
on sale in the U.S. September sales of MINI automobiles were 2,917, up 27 percent from the 2,295 sold
in the same month of 2003. Year-to-date, sales of MINI automobiles were level, with 25,670 cars
compared to 25,720 sold a year ago.
