expensive runflat tire...

hi, guys, are there anyone replace your runflat tire before??....my tire was punched by nail the day before yesterday, and mini garage give a quote:$500......wow......so expensive man....haha...also as i known the only places fix runflat tire are: bob jane and mini garage.....and i also "test" the runflat tire by driven it 2 days with the punched tire( of course i dont know the tire was punched during last 2 days).....the felling is:...u wont feel your tire was punched, everything is normal. my conclusion is: how great the runflat tire is but how $$$$the the tire is.............

Good day

$500 is about right, in fact if anything it's lower than usual from a dealer. Someone I was speaking to paid $600 each for two from a dealer.

I got quoted $560 from BMW, $430 from my Pirelli delaer and then he told me he could give them to me for $399 when I come in... Sounds like an alright deal down here in comparison!!

Haha, you might want to check the tread wear indicators though.

When I got the car, the same week I checked out how much they were - $560 from a dealer in Melb...

I just thought I'd check, before I went and ripped them up!

Yes, my tyres have had a Brazillian!!

They look very sad - after 16000km but it has been great fun!!

Hi,

I know that it is hard to tell from the photo, but they still look legal to me It looks like there is still probably 2-3mm to the wear bars

Interestingly, it looks like the centre tread has worn much more than the outside, which seems to be a property of the run-flats. What pressures have you been running out of interest, as higher pressures tend to wear the centre tread more.

Pity Trelo is no longer on the boards, as he could show some pics of true Brazilian tyres

Cheers

Robbo

Trelo got taken off?! why? what happened?

as for the tyres, i had a nail in one of mine, it was in the centre which means you can get it repaired.. cost about $25-30 .. only took 5 mins too.. haven't had a problem since

and robbo.. with Todds tyres; wouldn't you want to replace them anyway? they do seem kinda low on tread.. prob wouldn't go as well as a new set?
