I ordered a DS/B MCS in August from Philip Mini Garage too .

My stinkin' commodore is driving me crazy!!! January seems so far away! (The August orders are supposed to be built some-time this month).

Did the Black/Black demo car help you make up your mind about colour?

I was wondering, how have you found your service at Philip? I haven't heard a peep from them since I placed my order. I've been trying to get hold of an order number or, when the car is finally built, for them to pass a VIN on to me so I can track the car...they haven't been very helpful on that front.

Anyway...I feel your joy/pain! - The Joy of contemplating how I can spend my hard earned money on goodies for my mini and fantisising about finally driving my own!

..And the pain of driving what feels like an ocean-liner, knowing that there's mini's out there that I could be driving instead....!!

Oh yeah, my order was - DS/B MCS Cordoba Beige, phone prep, Chili pack...

The big day feels so close, but soooooo far!!

...Tit

Hi there tit,

I didn't actually see the black/black demo there unitl after ordered... saw one in Sydney though and that tipped the balance!

I've found the service from Phillip to be on and off... when I first went in and was keen they never got back even though I called them a couple of times. Then I went to Sydney to see a dealer or two and had a shocker of an experience with someone up there, thought Phillip weren't so bad afterall.

I think the trick must be to keep hassling, even though it shouldn't be necessary. Apparently they have some improved tracking method now so they could tell me build date, shipping arrival etc. My advice is to persevere with them. After all the best things are hardest to come by

I hear what you say about the phone prep too, that's why I ordered mine and I was a bit ****ed off to hear of the new aerial only after mine is built. I just figure it can't be helped now.

I look forward to seeing everyone out there in the ACT!!!

So, did you get your VIN? Half the fun is tracking your car yourself. If you have your VIN read this thread ... http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...q_tracking_usa

It says it is for US customers, but scroll down to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen bit, that's the bit you want. Then once the car is in Australia let us know and we'll track down the TNT logistics website which tells you were she's at.

See examples below...

Dark blue SMG2.
Nice, BUT was'nt 35K more impressed than the 350. Plus I hate pushy salespeople.
But did love the 19" forged alloys and paddle shift but was a bit jumpy and its not great on downshifts with the SMG system.

Ha! Do your 'connections' include someone who lent you a pair of garden clippers to make the necessary adjustments?

Nice!

I just a call from the new service manager in Philip. He just wanted to know if I needed anything or had any gripes...too bad he can't make the car get here quicker!

That's the sorta service you want if you're buying a $50k car...!

Three weeks early

Have faith Tit, I went into the dealership at Philip yeaterday and my MCS has arrived 3 WEEKS EARLY!!!!!!! Yay!!

A huge tease though... not expecting it by now, the finance isn't yet sorted and I'll have to wait till Friday, but I did drool over it lovingly. The anthracite and chrome interior look even better than I had thought.

I might see if I can sleep in it overnights until Friday

Congratulations!!

Wow! Did you say you ordered yours in late August?
I've got a guy keen to look at my dunny-dore tomorrow. Fingers crossed I can offload it and not get stuck like that. I'm still working on a late Jan delivery.

I'm so jealous!!!

Lucky *******!

Hope it's worth the wait!

Thanks guys

My order actually went in on the 1st of August and it arrived on tuesday morning, surprising even the guys at the dealership. It has taken some creative financing to sort out the jeep, giving me time to sell it, but he whirlwind to get everything in place for tomorrow has somehow worked out.

I'll definitley have to find time to snap some pictures on the weekend in the few moments I'm not driving, I already have a queue of people wanting lifts everywhere, taking all the long cuts I can!

WAAH! (haha)...I ordred mine around 20 Aug...I'm sure I won't see it until the end of Jan...

It looks like I've got a buyer for my conforma-dore though (so hopefully no 'creative' financing for me). He's in a bit of a rush, so I may end up carless over Christmas and New Years....As opposed to you, Dr Scott, who probably won't leave your car until sometime after new years!

Happy Motoring Mate!

Dr Scott, if your'e still around, and those that may be interested, I'm picking up my car on Tuesday 18 Jan....it's been a long wait, but it will be good. My old car is sold, insurance and finance is sorted...it's all falling into place! Woooo!!

They are even polishing the car with some Meguairs NXT that I've given them, instead of the BMW polish that they use....sweeet....!
